  1. Mind yer teuchter accent
  2. Pity you didn't come with us to Nancy. Big party in the main square and a piper lead march to the ground thru the streets of the city with many locals waving out the windows and some joining the 3,000 'Well fans. This was us 30mins after full-time ...... Post Match Sing-Song Hope you enjoy the trip to St Mirren's last game at Love Street and us taking 3pts back east.
  3. Good point Tweed, but what of the plight for folks who can't get to FP to Q or live too far away to make it viable ? I doubt MFC will ever be able to implement a system which will guarantee 100% satisfaction/agreement from its fan base, but I see this recent initiative as a step in the right direction. Hopefully lessons can be learned and we will see continuous improvement to their ticket distribution process.
  4. and some XXXL T's at long last. ordered a new 'graffiti' style skip hat ..... gave my old one away to some barman in Nancy .... and a tammy to keep my napper warm during them cold Skaville winters. was -8 here on Tuesday
  5. Hammell's cross in for the 3rd was Cooperesque 3 well taken goals though ............... well done CP
  6. What's your criteria for your ratings mate ?
  7. The Supporters Association has been on the go for as long as I can remember. I 1st joined in the mid 70's and have been a member ever since with the Central, Bridgework, Muirehouse and East of Scotland Branches. Option is there for folk to join up. What's a tenner afterall ?
  8. Being purely selfish I hope it's Accies who go down. Inverness is as near as I get to a home game and a vibrant Accies team could be an alternative option for young lads growing up in the Clyde valley !
  9. Good appointment for you IMHO, but will he be able to save you from the drop. Was given the job at Fir Park too early I reckon, and didn't actually take us into Europe nor was he in any way responsible for our tango with Administration. I thought he did a good job at PNE, and took Derby up afterall then was given no money whatsoever to consolidate their top flight place. A great wee player in his day and one of the game's genuine good guys. Best of luck to him, and Forest.
  10. And it's the same with every town/city with a league team. Support is found in neighboring towns/villages and the county, but it's a quantifiable method of calculating a support to population ratio. Motherwell has Bellshill, Wishaw, etc., while the much larger towns of Falkirk, Kilmarnock, Paisley and Hamilton have Grangemouth, Deny, Irvine, Salcoats, Renfrew, Barrhead, Blantyre, Burnbank and more, respectively. Motherwell is the smallest town with an SPL club, while only Dingwall in the 1st Div has a smaller population. In addition we cannot underestimate the influencial impact of the Bigot Brothers on our potential support base. Like Hamilton and St Mirren our west central Scotland location will always ensure droves of local football supporters will wear blue or green favours. IMHO our support is better than is should be and the Club continues to punch above its weight. Compare our lot to St Johnstone, Dundee, Ayr Utd, Morton, Airdrie and Partick Thistle to name but a few and IMHO we have absolutely nothing to complain about ........ but we'll no doubt find a way 6th is Bluddy Good Going
  11. You mean this ........... Click Here
  12. I had the dream and Malf did the art work, (thanks again mate). 2 tierson 3 sides with a stand encorporating corporate and media suites/club facilities/hotel/leisure complex, etc.,
  13. Yeah, best wishes to all on here, regardless of your opinion. Hope 2009's a good one for you xXx
  14. The 'Well fans are out there; 35,000(ish) at the '91 cup final, 13,000(ish) at the 2005 CIS final and a full house at Fir Park for the Nancy game. Trouble is encouraging them along on a regular basis.
  15. Being a Mod now, are you not meant to show us a mature and well behaved example
  16. Absobluddylutely. The Taylor Report was a result of the terrible tragedy that was Hillsborough. However, lets face it we never were or ever will be likely to witness anything near similar at Fir Park. I believe we in Scotland suffered overkill as many recommendations from Lord Justice Taylor's Report were forceably implemented by our politicians - who saw it is a way to sanitise our beloved game. Roofing the open ends at Fir Park, and improving toilet/catering facilities would have been sufficient IMHO. Sadly, those who attempt to stand for 90mins are no doubt breaching some form of ill-advised legislation, however I believe Police and Stewards have to show some common sense and identify/determine if public safety is at risk before they flash their stripes in the East Stand.
  17. Putting the obvious aside, ('91 Cup Final, '91 semi-final, getting last 10 mins in Katowice), I would place this as my "alternative" best day out as 'Well fan ..... even though it was sticky trouser time outside, (apologies to the Gorgie Road Butcher who's shop I ran into, and who's cleaver I lifted to fend off several blood hungry Jambo skinheads ).
  18. I'd pretty much agree with that. Add on the accessories: travel, pie, bovril, prog, pint(s), etc., etc., and it's an expensive day out. Attending the recent Accies game cost me the best part of £100 all in .................. Enough said. As for getting attendances of 3,000 - 4,000 ? In a town with approx 30,000 souls less than 10 miles from Glasgow - home of 2 of the World's biggest football clubs - that isn't bad in my book. Doubt there's a league team in England based in a smaller town.
  19. Almost exactly why I left the Trust. I want someone on the Board who JB has not appointed, and until the Trust can provide such a thing they aint living up to their promise IMHO.
  20. the weather will no doubt see a postponement which will see tickets available for transfer
  21. All of which are caused by the policing and stewarding of the East Stand. I would urge the officials to ask themselves ..... when was the last time there was any trouble inside Fir Park, (apart from Skippy Sunday when the Club sold home section tickets to Celtic supporters) ? many of the 40's+ members of the forum will remember the bad old days, (when even the visit of Raith Rovers saw trouble in the shed), and will no doubt share my opinion that the current police and stewards in FP aint exactly stretched on match days. Mountains out of molehills
  22. Agree Luke ................ this is what we want
  23. Wish it was us ...................... albeit I'm not kean on the design, but Fir Park is also a dump and is no longer fit for purpose. Love it or loath it St Mirren now have a stadium and additional facilities which should secure their mid term future.
  24. Bet u say that to all the boys B) Good luck with the Project, and like most others have said I also wouldn't mind seeing the results.
  25. My thoughts are with his young family every day. Suppose Phil played such a major part in what was the best day of my life, back in '91, that he instantly achieved permanent hero status in my little mind. Even when he signed for the Tims I bore him no grudge. Beit a year, or ten or more down the line since that tragic December day, I will never come to terms with the loss of the man, and a fine man he was.
