  1. Other half says never make a bank transfer to an unknown party. She's not sure about the security of paypal, but like I suggested earier she says Visa is your safest option. If he is a legit business, he should have no issues about accepting payment via Visa ......... else be very very wary.
  2. If the card on your paypal A/C is a Visa then yes. Else, best to read your Paypal T's & C's or speak to someone who works in a bank, (I was in IT, will ask the other half for you when she gets in).
  3. Beware Bank transfer Mr M Jr. take advice from your bank, as it is a favoured mechanism for scam merchants. Better to make payment with visa, and enjoy the protection it offers.
  4. Safe journey and best of luck to all the Dossers heading out to Valencia Following MFC in Europe is a privilage the lucky ones amongst us have enjoyed, beit just the once, the complete set so far or somewhere in between. My nephew is still waxing lyrical about his trip to Athens, and not because of Athens itself or the rooftop pool or the Olympic Stadium or flying with the team, but because of sharing the trip with hundreds of other Dossers. Fantastic to read of all the routes folks are taking to get there...... that's commitment for you Pity the internet wasn't around in 91, then 50 of us might have seen more than the last 10mins in Katowice. All the best folks, and here's hoping we get a favourable result.
  5. I like that............................. In claret on an amber shirt with claret sleeves, or in amber on a claret shirt with amber sleeves.
  6. Wait Wait Wait just a minute Iain .................. just where exactly did I say the Club was ripping anyone off ?
  7. Think this and Nethertonwellfan's arrangements sadly show, in this instance, how much of a rip-off the Club Charter is.
  8. Just a heads up for u Jim, last week's charter flight was the most cramped and uncomfortable flight I've ever experienced. Even my 5'9" nephew thought it was horrendous.
  9. Really appreciate the guidance you and Wembley-13 posted in advance of our trip to Athens Have to say my experience of Athens was a mixed one. I was bitterly disappointed not have visited the ancient sites, sites I had craved to visit from a very young age. Sadly it was just too hot to venture any great distance from the roof pool, and we only had the 1 overnight ...... in the (rip-off 8 euros a drink), President Hotel. On a more positive note, save the odd strange look or 20 - as we were wearing kilts - I found the locals to be very friendly. On Tues night we ventured up the Panarmou, (Pana heartlands I believe), to drink and eat and were very well received. Food was good, drink wasn't expensive and the locals were keen to practice their English with us. As for the junkies, never saw any, but hey Athens has well over 3M inhabitants so it's bound to have a seedy underbelly .............. what large city doesn't ? Overall:- Pana fans were great, some of their players are cheatin baisterts, and fuck knows what the Cops were all about ........... trying to get us to the Stadium 3 hours before kick-off, telling us not to use the Metro and greeting us with stun guns/riot shields/water cannon at the stadium before coralling us against a fence prior to letting us in then 2 ticket frisk checks !!!! You'd have thought they were expecting Galatasaray FFS.
  10. Maybe this is just where Scottish football is. Look at the record attendances for Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen, Partick, St Mirren, Dundee ............... 40,000-50,000, and look what they get now. In 1900, Scotland, (Glasgow), had 3 football stadiums with 100,000+ capacities. The boom years of the 1950's were taken for granted by Club chairmen, and little if any investment was made to secure the future of the game. Pre the Taylor Report only Ibrox and Pittodrie saw any development to make the match day experience a more comfortable one. However I believe there was over-reaction to the Taylor Report north of the border. Great white elephants have been created which instantly killed atmosphere and created a sterile generation of football fan. All that was required at Fir Park was to cover the end terraces and build better toilet/kiosk facilities ....................... not the multi-million pound monster that lies empty 363 days of the year at the south end of FP. And now I just don't think we are a football mad country anymore.
  11. 1 miserly goal, (and no wins), in 6 Euro away games for me ................ besides, my passport is now retired. Best of luck to those making the journey
  12. Really !!! Hope it's put to good use.
  13. I was the row in front, and fully echo your sentiments. They kept me going when the heat and dehydration were taking their toll. Got to laugh at Ryan, (the flare-starter), who bolted quick style when ignition sparked more than he had expected Well done Bois :notworthy:
  14. Master Bryson would look super in a kilt
  15. We're not a town team though mate. We're a 'shire team, with a sizeable proportion of our support coming from outside the town boundary.
  16. We need a lot more people going thru the turnstyles on a regular basis. 9k for our first ever Champions League game was poor imho European football for the 4th season in 5, 2 cup semis and a final in last 2 years and yet our average attendance is one of the lowest in SPL. That for me is the most worrying issue going forward.
  17. We ate up the top of Panarmou, (their heartlands apparently), on Tuesday night. Got a few strange looks but no hassle at all. Everyone very friendly, especially the Olympiakos folks who wanted us to win very very badly !!!!
  18. @Hammy .................... that's Kris, well fan in Aberdeen

  20. Has run the Central Branch for 300yrs, and at some time in the past was the Chairman of the Association, (may still hold a position on the Committee), but that does not give him the right to exorcise the "power-mad dictator" role he appears to relish so much. I believe his heart is in the right place, but his people skills are sadly lacking. I remember telling him, in the late 70's, to "get a grip". Perhaps stronger words are now required.
  21. The 1st of many this week
  22. So the Exodus starts today. Safe journey to all Dossers heading off to Athens over the next few days. Win, lose or draw, this is our time. Our wee diddy team is off to play one of the Giants of European Football in the Champions League. The Champions League !!! Still hasn't sunk in. We may be 2 goals behind, and written-off by all and sundry but there are 38 other Scottish Clubs and sets of fans out there who'd give their hind teeth to be where we are. Lets not forget that. To the Players ...... You do the Football, and we'll do the Noise. Mon the Dossers
