  1. Think this photo, taken in an East German service station on the way home, was for those of us still in 'Well tops ................. later to be known as The Smellies
  2. Why ? Did you have a perm as well
  3. Same bus as me ............ and we both had more hair then, but Ian aint changed much The 3 handsome guys in the front row
  4. That's the one ......... think they both drink in The Joker.
  5. Is it Andy from Bellshill ? Just had a novel thought though ............... why not produce a team pic, with one headless bod in the line up, and the facility to superimpose a head of your choice in there and name in the lising. Would make a decent Xmas or B/day gift
  6. We'll be back, don't you fret now I LOVE CELTIC AND ALL THINGS CATHOLIC!!
  7. Yeah, closest rival is where I'm coming from, in the more often than not absence of Accies/Airdrie over that period. Besides, Parkhead is barely 15miles from Fir Park while Motherwell and the surrounds has more than a smattering of Beggarz and I'n sure we all know one or more and love to beat them ......... so it's a rivalry just like the one Leeds have with Man-U or Derby have with Forest or Liverpool have with Man-U I'd say.
  8. and sharing a sherry or two
  9. Is that all ? Apparently we had over 1700 at Pittodrie although I met Tache and Sandy coming in on my way out after the final whistle what's that all about?
  10. Utd, Killie and ourselves have proved in the past 8 days that the Mauld Firm are no great shakes.
  11. Certainly looks like the away support is growing back towards the numbers it used to be. + I like that end stand at Tannadump ............... a continuous 3-sided 2-tier'd version at the Ark would be nice, and replace the crumbling main stand with a leisure/corporate/media combo.
  12. Was unable to hold a pint still enough to drink it before the '91 Cup Final. Doubt my old ticker could handle a CL game at the Ark, besides we've already beaten the previous holders already this season
  13. Geographically Lanarkshire/Lothians is where West meets East, and many county border towns and villages such as Whitburn, Armadale, Forth, Shotts, Harthill, Bathgate, etc., have fans of both Motherwell and Hearts. And lets not forget I lived and worked for 20years in the capital. 20days thru there would have been long enough to detest the Jambos. While games in the 70's saw some of the worst terrace and street violence in the town when the Gorgie hordes came visiting.
  14. But it's not Airdrieonians, it's a ressurection of Clydebank called Airdrie United and we've only played them in 1 competitive encounter. Hardly parameters for local rivalry surely
  15. Quite a landslide victory for Ruddy....................... and welcome to the Forum dosser86
  16. While on the topic of local derbys, who would you say our local rivals are ? Is it Accies ? Is it Clydebank ? Does it depend on who we have as a league game ? Or is a cup-tie more important ? Depends if we talk local derby or rivals I suppose. Geographically it is Accies, although during the 70's for me it was Airdrie, as we were generally in the same league and had several cup-tie encounters. Then in the 80's it became Hearts, as I began working in Edinburgh and we shared many a crucial game/nasty encounter. However, for much of the last 20years our local league rivals have been the Tims. So, if you are down in London on a course, (or whatever), and several football supporting guys go to the pub for a beer and to bond. You are asked the question. So being a Motherwell fan, who are your big rivals ? For me, the game I get most up for is the visit of Hearts. Gary Mackay, John Robertson, Craig Levein, Jim Jeffries, Willie Gibson, Walter Kidd, Wayne Foster, Dave Bowman, John Colquhoun, Scott Crabbe, Henry Smith, Rab Prentice, Ian Baird, etc., etc., BASTAS the lot of them
  17. Had a wee feeling when I watched it live that the wee fella might make 3rd Eye. Bet he's getting some stick from family and friends
  18. Perhaps, they certainly weren't worthy of wearing the C&A
