    Alexander.

I thought Cole, Long and Watt were all on at the end of the 90 and played for the duration of ET in that one.
  2. Agree. And you can add to that the fact he won promotion as the Championship team in the play-off, which is a rarity. The very least they owed him was his chance to consolidate in the Premiership his first season back.
  3. Mark McGhee the new "surprise favourite" for the Dundee job. He must be needing the air miles.
  4. The biggest challenge is playing the same team in consecutive games. That's never easy as the opponents have fresh experience of how you are playing. So you have to decide if you are going the same again in the belief it's enough to win or change it up for variation and risk the changes are not as effective.
  5. There speaks a man of hard earned experience.
  6. Must be a favourite for the Aberdeen job now.
  7. The winner of the Forfar tie drew Rangers at Ibrox the next round. We wouldn't have won that.
  8. Same reason as anyone would shake van Veen's hand after he's spent 90 minutes winding them up?
  9. I hope we beat them so heavily they sack their interim manager.
  10. He said the same thing about Brown the last time we beat them, so that was the "motivated" version we played against on Saturday..
  11. After his goal celebration, I hope.
  12. Aberdeen have a mini goalkeeping crisis - which is why they have ended up signing Craig Samson in an emergency coach/backup keeper situation. So right now, they get to choose Woods or Samson.
  13. We're not exactly guilt-free when it comes to that. Granted, we've been a bit better in recent years, but Ross McCormack wasn't too long ago.
  14. You'd be amazed how the the simplest of things can get in the way of people. It's like the number of people that never see the Google search results on page 2 because they won't click the Next Page link.
  15. It's fans the vote for that player of the match on the BBC site by giving live ratings to each man. (The BBC reporter gave MOTM to van Veen).
  16. I see Craig Samson has registered as a keeper for Aberdeen on an emergency short-term basis and is also helping out as a coach. Another ex-keeper, Gordon Marshall, is their regular coach and out of action due to surgery.
  17. As I've said before, I don't mind guys like Gordon or Miller giving their opinions, because we know they are Aberdeen fans and can filter accordingly. Much better that way than the ones who have OF loyalties but pretend they support other teams.
  18. I hope they enjoyed their afternoon doon the shops.
  19. The cup bandwagon rolls on. Make your choice for man of the match.
  20. Certainly makes a difference when your strikers convert their chances.
  21. And it's only going to get worse. As Burrow's pointed out recently, post-Brexit, English clubs have even more incentive to nick Scottish youngsters early in their development instead of importing EU kids like they used to.
  22. Not just the Premiership. Even when I watch Championship games these days I'm surprised at how many non-Scottish players are playing in our lower leagues.
  23. I could have sworn there have been times we had no Scots players starting, but I could be misremembering. Our first team squad is about one third Scottish, which isn't unusual these days. Plus we have three more Scottish youngsters out on loan. The Covid situation has made it much more challenging to bring through youngsters from the academy as they just aren't getting any competitive games to push them, but hopefully that situation will change soon. Of course the overall situation started with the Bosman ruling. There also used to be the rule in European competitions that you were only allowed to field 2 "foreign" players and the rest had to be homegrown. So that had a huge impact on the top teams developing their own talent. Once that was scrapped, that also opened the floodgates.
