I started going to games in the 1970-71 season and we only had one season with a hoop (73 - 74) between then and 1984. And, of course, no hoop when we won the cup. I also liked the white Admiral change kit form the 1970's with the vertical claret and amber stripe. So while I like to see a hoop, it never formed a part of my original Fir Park experiences.

I broke my wrist years ago when I fell over in the snow. So little pain involved that I thought I had just sprained it. Turned out the scaphoid bone was fractured and required a bone graft and a titanium screw, because that bone doesn't have much of a blood supply and often won't heal on it own. It was in a cast for 4 or 5 weeks and the surgery damaged all the nerves in my hand - I couldn't even touch the tip of my thumb to the tip of my index finger. I couldn't have played football for about a month after that as any contact to my hand, or worse, falling on it, might have damaged the recovery. And that was a nothing break.

True about add-ons. I was thinking more about initial fees. I agree 10 million is nothing to EPL clubs, but given that Mika left Arsenal for 4 million there can be quite a of variation in valuations.

My biggest fear that season was when we won the away game against Celtic shortly before the cup semi. I was concerned we wouldn't win two games in Glasgow on the bounce. When Ferguson hit the bar in the first semi I thought that was our chance gone. Thankfully, I was proved very wrong.
