  1. Place your vote for Tierney here.
  2. That's been our problem the last few weeks/months. I think we'll do enough to sneak a one goal win tonight.
  3. A bigger mistake if we brought in one that was worse than what we have. And as I've said a few times, it's rare that a Premiership class forward (that we can afford) is available in January. Best case, they come from a lower league and will take 2 months before they are fit enough for 90 minutes.
  4. I'd have been OK with Aaron Ramsey
  5. Make your choice. Could be worse. Some of us have snow to shovel.
  6. If he normally play as a left winger, it's his assists that are his key stat.
  7. Another classic "under the radar" signing from the club.
  8. The key to beating them the last time was keeping the high press for 90 minutes. That needs to be the minimum for this game, but no reason we can't do it again.
  9. Not every player is a great tackler, and not every midfielder needs to be a defender. You need the balance between holding, box to box, and creative. One of our best teams had Bobby Russell and Davie Cooper playing beside each other. I doubt if they made 10 tackles between them in their time at Fir Park.
  10. According to the BBC Stats page, Goss is currently sitting top of our stats with most assists, most passes made (by quite some margin), most passes completed, second most chances created (after van Veen) and most "Chances per 90".
  11. I went for McGinley just because I give him a hard time when he's poor.
  12. I agree we miss Watt. Whether we bring in a new striker or not, it will still take a few games to adjust to his loss. We will adjust though, same as we always do.
  13. Called it 0 - 0 in the other thread (just skip the 7 goal thriller bit) and that was before I knew about the weather. Wind can just kill a game, so not too disappointed with a point to keep us in 4th spot - especially after we went a man down.
  14. Make your pick for man of the match. This week's prize is to keep GA's seat warm in the dugout at the next game.
  15. I know people prefer different styles of play and have different opinions on individuals, but I still find it hard to believe anyone can watch a game and think that Maguire "lacks in so many areas and brings almost nothing". He's not perfect, but watching young players like him develop is one of the reasons I enjoy being a 'Well fan. He's definitely improved since GA took over and I was very happy to see him extend his contract.
  16. Not bad enough to get Glass sacked before the cup tie, I hope.
  17. Even better if they sell Calvin Ramsay by then. He's been one of their best players any time I've seen him play.
  18. If he's to be believed, in his presser today, GA said they were looking for central defence cover because so many others were injured.
  19. Now I need another vaccination after reading a Daily Mail tweet.
  20. Fergie's League and Euro winning Aberdeen team was pretty impressive. His St Mirren team, not so much.
  21. Maguire is a good example of a player that has come through our system and is still developing as a player. When people ask about youngsters getting their chance, he is a good example. He's also a good example of the lack of patience some fans have with developing younger players, as they are pretty unforgiving about any mistakes. My preferred midfiled this season has been Slattery, Maguire and Goss as I think that provides the best balance of dig and passing. Tierney and Shaw, of course, might change that for the remainder.
  22. I believe the technical term for that type of football is "of its time". Great game to be at, though.
  23. Given we seem to make 4 or5 changes every game, I'm not sure who the usual suspects are other then Kelly.
  24. It surely wasn't that baffling. We obviously had injuries/illnesses to key players and GA did his usual trick of keeping quiet about them.
