100% - but as usual the authorities bent over backwards to accommodate them regardless.

Only if you believe he deliberately touched the ball as per the IFAB wording. He certainly didn't make his body "unnaturally bigger" It is an offence if a player: deliberately touches the ball with their hand/arm, for example moving the hand/arm towards the ball touches the ball with their hand/arm when it has made their body unnaturally bigger. A player is considered to have made their body unnaturally bigger when the position of their hand/arm is not a consequence of, or justifiable by, the player’s body movement for that specific situation. By having their hand/arm in such a position, the player takes a risk of their hand/arm being hit by the ball and being penalised I'd argue if you are turning your back on a shot blasted at you from 3 yards away, there is not deliberate touching of the ball or unnatural "biggening" Especially using this season's interpretation that are supposed to include a little more common sense. The fact that the ref had a clear view and didn't award it suggests to me he was OK with it too and only felt like he had to give it when he was summoned by VAR.

There have been solutions proposed over the years, but the SFA rejected 99% of them. When Rainer Bonhof was in charge of the U21s he provided some plans to overhaul the structure that were tossed in the bin. One of the main stumbling blocks is that the OF (and a few others, to be fair) are more focused in short-term success and keeping the lion's share of income. Any overhaul is likely to eat into that and, horror of horrors, might distribute revenue in a fairer manner and increase the level of competition in the leagues. One thing that did stand out to me from those figures is the laughable notion that B teams in the lower leagues were going to provide a pathway to promote youngsters into the Premiership first teams.

The irony of the whole poppy debacle these days is that while the Royal British Legion is very vocal about everyone choosing to do what they want, it has been turned into a political game by the populists who love freedom so much they want to make you wear what they want you to wear, and only say what they agree with.

I'm no physicist, but I'm pretty sure the ball was moved towards him at great velocity first.

Kaleta, Sparrow, Seddon, Gordon, Balmer and Maswanhide are looking decent enough this early in the season. Given all the injuries, if you told me we be in joint 4th at this stage, I'd have bitten your hand off. Many were predicting a dour relegation battle from day 1.
-
Didn't realise he had ended up at Dunfermline. Another one of the many that can't cut it in the top flight but manage to find a comfortable home in the Scottish lower leagues. Think the last time I saw him was in an FA Cup (or maybe league cup) tie for Sutton Utd.

Slattery can link the midfield to attack. Trust me, despite the detractors on here, I expect the Miller / Slattery combo in midfield to add the extra dimension we're lacking.

Ref was very inconsistent and, while I am obviously biased, thought he was worse for us. I hate the current hand-ball, but will grudgingly accept a pen against us if it falls within the nonsenical guidelines. However, when the ball hits the hand of a player whose elbow is tucked against his side, that should never be a pen.
-
A few good options today, but Kaleta just edged it from Sparrow for me. If Sparrow had buried his over-the-shoulder chance he'd be the clear winner. I don't think other teams will be as generous with their space in behind, though.

Close Finnish. Take your pick...
-
For us, I meant, obviously...
-
Early 3rd goal please.
-
Not too bad going forward, but our makeshift defence looks exactly like a makeshift defence. Even had Ox spilling a shot. Sparrow, Maswanhise and Kaleta all looking dangerous on the front foot.
-
Nicely placed into the side of the net.
-
That was better - with Kaleta and Maswanhise we need to mix it up with balls over the top.
-
He definitely looked more confident today. He's been a regular starter recently which obviously makes a huge difference to form.
-
That's what I was thinking when I saw it!
-
Underrated by the commentator. He took the pen with his right foot and slotted home the rebound from 10 yards or so with his left foot.
-
Maybe he needs to start playing better. Having said that, I wasn't expecting a goal machine after a few starts even without injuries or new babies, or round trips to Oz to get in the way. Wenger used to say it took 6 months to adapt to a new team in the same league. Longer if you came in from a different country.
-
A Casey/Blaney combo sounds like a recipe for conceding a soft goal. Need the wingbacks to be on top of their game to cut out crosses.
-
Some impressive CVs among the new appointments and a great mix of background and experience. Looking forward to see what new ideas they bring in the coming months.

Max Johnston lining up against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League this evening. Glad it's still going well for him.

Excellent counterargument with some insightful expansion on your detailed thoughts and expertise. BTW, it was Gent that said SK made him a better player. In the same interview he talks about how it was a difficult time for him shortly after he joined us because his Dad died that October, but I'm sure you think that wouldn't have had any impact on his initial development with us.
-
Alternative take - Gent wasn't first team ready when he arrived and Kettlewell coached him into that form over those 6 months.
