  1. If you didn't have to look that up I'm seriously impressed!
  2. I'm not sure Oxford Utd or even Hibs are better things in term of football quality - certainly not this year's Hibs so far. Better money, definitely, and that could be a major factor for Watt when he is making his decision. Campbell's move is still in its early days, but I do expect he will go on to good things there and he is likely to be successful. McKinstry has top flight potential, but it's very much still potential at this stage in his career. We all know how quickly these things can turn sour. Would be great to have an academy product starring the in the EPL every week.
  3. I remember a game against them years ago when they were also bottom of the league. It was a nice sunny evening towards the end of the season, and if St Johnstone lost, their relegation was confirmed. Standing on the East Terrace, I watched us stroll to a 4 - 0 victory. This game will be nothing like that one - but I think we'll win,
  4. It's the same pool of refs that review the VAR video, so I have zero confidence things will get any better against the OF in that regard. You'll never hear as many "no clear and obvious error" calls from any VAR other than Ibrox or Parkhead.
  5. Votes please, thoughts optional...
  6. If they give those, Kelly would be conceding about 50% of his kicks from hand when he strays out his box. Glad to see we're not parking the bus.
  7. He actually returned quicker than expected. I read an article that said it was perhaps too quick and after a couple of games on the bench he dropped back out of the squad for a couple of games. However, Wee Al being Wee Al, he was back as a starter for Luton in early November and pretty much played the full 90 mins in all 5 of their game since.
  8. Maybe or maybe not. I was just giving a possible reason why he might struggle to recapture this level of form elsewhere - and his prior dips in form suggest it's something he has struggled to deal with in the past. Of course, his current experiences might have better prepared him for a move, so we'll just need to wait and see.
  9. Moved up a position in the league today. If we don't play for another month we might end up top.
  10. Because he says he puts his current form to being comfortable in his current surroundings and that will change if he moves?
  11. And, for me, that's always part of the enjoyment of following a team like ours. Seeing a new gaffer come in and watching how he deals with the current squad to try and dig us out of a hole with a style based on the hand he was (mostly) dealt. Then the summer rebuild for the 1st crack at building in their own style, and how that set of personnel evolve as a team - and how he has to adapt to new personnel. Then the January window rolls around, which allows some tweaking before the whole experiment is reassessed the next summer. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but it's always interesting to see the differing philosophies and tactics coaches and and managers bring to a team.
  12. And Tony might want to take a look at Cole's form since he moved. 10 appearances, 1 goal. It's not an easy decision for someone like Watt. Whether he leaves or re-signs for us, this is likely to be his last "big" move. He is enjoying his football at Fir Park, and that is down to the perfect combination of club, managers, players, fans and location. When these things fall into place everybody benefits. We can't pay top wages, however, so now he needs to decide if he wants more in his pocket at the risk of playing less games and having less fun, or if he wants to thrive at a club like ours. If he does move on, there's no argument he deserves it. All I took from that particular article, however, is "There has been no fall-out, with the talks completely amicable." If there is any truth in it at all, it just sounds like standard negotiation tactics to me.
  13. Nah. GA is quite refreshing in that regard, only ever talking about how he is always looking to win every game. It cost us in the last Rangers game when he decided to chase it, but I'd much rather see than just shutting up shop.
  14. Zero chance it's his last footballing job. The leagues are full of much worse ex-players and managers in various capacities. And he has 3 year's wages in the bank to tide him over while he looks.
  15. I agree it was shortsighted move by Hibs, but I never feel too bad for anyone who is sacked with the remainder of their contract paid out in full.
  16. That's the kind of thing that happens at a club with a single, US based owner - instead of the fan ownership model Leann Dempster was hired to put in place.
  17. And whatever happens against Celtic on Sunday, we'll still end the day in at least 5th place.
  18. Top 3 are easy for me: 1. Wullie Pettigrew 2. Bobby Graham 3. Tommy Coyne Then 4. Higdon (albeit just for his record breaking season) Number 5 is where it gets even harder. Was a big fan of Porter, but I'd go for McLair. Finding his feet in his first season and 16 goals for 37 games in his second season - not to mention his goals defeating the OF in consecutive games at Fir Park. More importantly, though, was you could see he was going to be a player. Although I wouldn't argue if swapped 4 and 5. (In fact I think I would swap them).
  19. There's certainly a feeling among the fans that we should write them off - and that's based on bitter recent experience. I don't think guys like GA are writing them off, however. If you look at the OF record each year, though, they don't lose many at home.
  20. Is this just a subtle way of telling her she's dumped?
  21. I'd say it was lazy journalism, but I don't think they even applied that much effort to link ex-Preston player with Preston job. Usually when the papers say "is linked" they mean a journo came up with the idea. I read the article, and there are literally zero sources or quotes about Alexander. At least the links to Callum Davidson have "reports have suggested" which at a minimum means someone else outside of the writer's imagination has said it too.
  22. I'm certainly not dissing Dougie - and he will always be a cup winning legend who I enjoyed watching. He's just not in my elite top tier of players I've seen play in the past 50+ (fifty? - I'm getting old!) years at Fir Park.
  23. If we're playing that game, I'll see you Alex Fisher, Mike Larnach and Jim Gillespie.
  24. I'd have Bobby Graham in there ahead of Arnott. Class act that is too often overlooked thanks to Wullie P.
