  1. Decent enough performance considering it wasn't that meaningful for us in the grand scheme of things. All too easy to let your performance drop in those circumstances. It did happen for some short periods, but considering Killie knew they were fighting for survival, we kept them quiet where it counted. Staying in seventh in our own hands now, and would be a good result given how our form was earlier in the season. And another clean sheet.
  2. If Cole could finish like that AND have a great first touch he wouldn't be playing for us. But touch is something that can be developed.
  3. And to an unlucky goal when Liam Kelly slips on the wet turf.
  4. It's almost like managers intentionally lie to the media about who is and isn't playing to try and gain some kind of advantage.
  5. With no reserve games, no real chances to go out on loan and a team that was in a relegation battle, it's been a bit of a write off season for the youth players. The upside is that, even though chances were thin on the ground, we kept them employed and active - unlike some clubs that just completely shut things down.
  6. As we won't be in Europe, he must be thinking about 2 cup finals with that team.
  7. If we're paying, they're playing.
  8. It's always entertaining to read the comments on here when a good player leaves. Gallagher's performances were good enough for an international call up, where he ended up being one of the top performers in the team that qualified for the Euros. That's good for him, and elevates our status as a club who can help boost your career - helping sign a better quality of new players. I'd be delighted if we managed to replace him with someone else that follows that trajectory.
  9. I hate the LED advertising. (Aren't some of them virtual anyway? And it's the TV companies that add them electronically to the stream).
  10. I certainly wouldn't judge the league or the cup performances of any team this season as being typical. However, in prior years it wasn't unusual for "lesser" teams to sit in and park the bus. Sometimes to try and get a lucrative replay at the bigger team's ground or, conversely, bring them back to their own small, tight ground where they felt they had a chance of an upset.
  11. Different management, same player/manager recruitment strategy.
  12. I would certainly hope so, given he's an academy product who's arguably the best Scottish player in the league right now.
  13. Light seats will look worn and dirty much sooner than dark seats.
  14. Maybe for some. But I enjoyed our last 2nd place finish as much as I enjoyed winning the cup. The one before that was ultimately a little frustrating as we had a legitimate shot at the title. Pinning your hopes of success in competitions where you need a slice of luck to win is rarely going to make you happy (as you are proving with your frustration).
  15. Of course Gary Player is also well documented cheat. (Google it, if you're not old enough to remember. Even Tom Watson accused him of it). Penalty shoot outs, especially in the Scottish Cup, are rare to say the least. A more interesting question would be "how many penalty shoot outs have we had against a top flight side"? It's a bit unfair to discount other "wee" teams - especially when we've knocked in all 5 on various occasions. That's also a bit unfair. "Apart from the season when we got to two finals and beat multiple top flight teams along the way - including a classic battle against Rangers - we haven't done anything in the cup or beat good teams since 2011!" Also, since 2011 we have finished second in the league once, third in the league 3 times and fourth in the league once. So it hasn't exactly been dark times during that period.
  16. Disappointing they put seats back on the steps.
  17. Which make it all the more amazing to me that Aberdeen are sitting 9 points clear in fourth - because any time I have seen them this season, including this weekend, they have been honking.
  18. Killie's relegation play-off game is shaping up to be a classic.
  19. If there's no fans in Hampden, it doesn't count as a Cup win. Harsh, I know, but I don't make the rules.
  20. His 9 wins out of 38 with the Atlanta 2 in the USL is particularly unimpressive. I have no problems with teams taking a chance on up and coming managers, but he doesn't seem to be more than a below average reserve team coach who happened to have played for Aberdeen. You have to imagine he was the cheap option.
  21. Pity we didn't get drawn against Aberdeen. They have been beyond woeful today. Nothing up front and defensively awful.
