  1. Would be funny if the appeals panel came back and revised the punishment by deducting 3 points per cancelled game from them instead.
  2. I assume they appealed because the process allows for an appeal and there is no downside if they fail. Their fine was suspended anyway, so dropping it shouldn't make much of a difference. Celtic haven't (yet) failed to fulfill any of their fixtures and, according to Jason Leitch, didn't break any rules by traveling to Dubai. The SPFL/SFA are much less concerned when games aren't cancelled, so I wouldn't expect to see much action there.
  3. Just wanted to be the first to say "Naw" to Kyle Lafferty this window.
  4. A good performance and narrow defeat to continue our trend of fooling the gaffer into thinking we don't need any new players until the transfer window closes, and it's too late. Or a 4 - 1 skelping.
  5. In his interview earlier this week he said he didn't think he'd have anyone new in by the Rangers game. I'm not sure we can compete with Hibs on the wage front. They have much more cash to splash around than we do.
  6. Despite my lack of confidence in the governing authorities in general, I always thought the appeals would fail. This was based on the published judgement that pretty much addressed every objection either club might have and explained the justification for the punishments. Of course, we'll find out soon enough if my optimism was misplaced.
  7. THAT'S NOT WHAT IT SAID ON THE PARLER FEED!!!!
  8. He wouldn't even have to admit he was wrong. He'd just need to say that from where he was standing it looked like there was illegal contact (or whatever). Nobody can argue with that, and even if video after the fact shows it wasn't a penalty, nobody can dispute what he thought he saw from his vantage point. That way, fans at least get to hear his reasoning, and no admission of error needs to be made. Unfortunately, given we operate in a footballing world where sections of fans vandalise houses and send live bullets through the mail, the chances of level-headed conversation is slim to none.
  9. I remember seeing that stats from last season that we were the only Premiership team who averaged more points away from home than at home. Given there are no fans allowed in, maybe we should offer to play all our remaining games away this season.
  10. At least it avoids the "will everyone get a ticket" panic.
  11. Hope Fortmartine and Annan weren't watching today's Leeds game.
  12. I'm already looking forward to focusing on the league.
  13. To some extent, he'd be putting them wherever the coaching staff told him to put them during their set-piece training.
  14. Mugabi does just fine when he keeps it simple.
  15. On clear chances we should probably be 3 - 1.
  16. I hope that's because you have a bet on rather than for entertainment!
  17. To be fair, that accusation could be aimed at 90% of them, from Gallagher to Long. That's why we are the wrong end of the table.
  18. Aye, he needs to be staying on his feet for that one. Bright start, though. Even Hastie putting in a decent shift so far. Although Watt back to his old tricks of missing our best chance.
  19. If he's still in Portland that's about as close to me as Motherwell!
  20. Sounds like a decent option, and glad the Board didn't take too long given the transfer window is up and running.
  21. and journalist for the Manchester Evening News.
  22. Not sure why I'd be bothered watching St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup, but as far as Motherwell are concerned, I've been watching them for about 50 years with zero expectation of winning anything. The best I hope for is some entertainment and at least an attempt at some decent football. I know that doesn't always happen, but if the manager's philosophy is to intentionally adopt a negative anti-football style of play, I would stop watching. I only get to see the vast majority of the games on the MFC stream anyway, and that already diminishes the experience without adding to the misery with donkey ball.
  23. I'm serious. I'd rather watch teams try to play a bit of football and fail than set up to team just to stop the opposition. I have zero interest in anti-football tactics.
  24. I'd rather be relegated than watch a season's worth of St Johnstone-esque football.
  25. That will probably depend on ScotRail.
