Watt showing a different side of his game today, putting himself about up front. Half chance for Cole that he skewed wide about the only other thing of note so far.
-
We only get home commentary on the overseas sub.
-
Assist from Cole sent him through, but still had a lot of work to do to finish.

Goal Lang!

Jet tries to lob our 12ft 6" keeper from the half way line. Fail.

Pretty solid first 15 mins. Looking comfortable at the back and doing our best to play a bit of football when we can. Had a half chance when Bartley nicked off the toe of Polworth.

That happens some weeks for me. Sometimes switching players fixes it. (I suspect it might be because Jock Brown is commentating from his house)

No surprises so far. Livi keeper launching 70 yard balls for them to chase. Gallagher looking at home . Looks like we are mostly into the wind this half. There were fewer long kicks in the Wales Scotland rugby first half.

I think we have a decent chance of points, I just think it will make my eyes bleed watching it.

I'm looking forward to watching the Cup Semi more than I'm looking forward to watching this. It's a pretty sad indictment on the game when basically 100% of players and fans don't want to watch a game like this in what is supposed to be the entertainment industry, but the authorities are quite happy to let pitches like this be used in the top flight. I've been watching the BBC coverage of the FA Cup qualifiers and teams in the 9th and 10th tiers of English football play on better surfaces than this.

If it turns out St Mirren were at it - although that would be difficult to prove - then I think a 3 - 0 forfeit would be fair under these specific circumstances. That has to come from the SFA, however, which is another process that needs to run its course. I can't imagine it would be possible to prove they were at it, however, so I imagine that the SPFL being the SPFL will just hand out some token punishment, and suspend even that. Meanwhile, the inevitable chaotic end-of-season comes another week closer.

I don't expect much to come from these investigations apart from, maybe, a token fine or slap on the wrist. The bigger issue for me is to make sure there are some decisions made (and made soon) about how to handle this situation in the future and, of course, deal with the very real possibility of not being able to play the league to its conclusion. Not holding my breath, though.

Politicians have looked down on football fans for as long as I can remember. In the last 50 years I can't think of more than a handful of them that were real fans of the game. As as a result, football has often been the whipping boy for their agendas and an easy scapegoat for societal issues. That's one reason they reacted the way they did to Marcus Rashford's campaign.

A real pal would never invite you round to watch a game at Livi.

Our official website has the 4 keepers (2 fit, 2 injured) listed in the first team squad, zero keepers in the reserve squad and PJ Morrison/Matthew Connelly listed as On Loan. I'm not even sure if we have anyone younger that is eligible to play in the senior squad.
-
In the current environment I think we're trying to keep as many youngsters as possible actually playing rather than sitting on the bench. If this turns out to be another long term injury for Carson it makes sense to have an experienced back up. (and that's assuming we can recall any keeper that is currently out on loan).

That competition is probably worthy of a new thread - although it doesn't seem as complicated as the Nations League.
-
I see it's been confirmed that Scotland has 5 teams in UEFA competitions next season. 1st and 2nd get into Champions League qualifying rounds, 3rd and 4th into Europa League qualifiers and Scottish Cup winners also into Europa League qualifiers.
-
We must have bumped up our wages if we blew that on 2 free agents.

I don't mind one replay, but no more than that. Its good to keep the format of the League Cup and Scottish Cups different. (I know there are mini-leagues in the early round of the Betfred, but I suspect that will change in the future once people get tired of playing the same handful of regional teams every season).

O'Hara used to play as a defender for Killie so it wasn't a big surprise he looked comfortable at the back. Certainly seems a decent option and he bring his plastic pitch experience to Livi this weekend.

As most of the season ticket holders are Well Society members, I'm sure they could press the issue if it ever happened. Then you would need a fair system to select who gets in, of course. How many from a family, any age restrictions to protect the elderly fans etc. I'd prefer the club didn't intentionally go out of their way to lose money in these circumstances, but if the majority decide that is what they want to do, then so be it. And I say all of this as someone who has been 100% in favour of opening grounds as soon as possible. I just don't think it makes sense for clubs like ours until the numbers involved can be larger.
-
The club has guaranteed a full season of games for everyone who bought a season ticket. And free access to all home game streams while fans aren't allowed in. So nobody is losing out as far as I can tell. Personally, if I had a season ticket I'd rather be able to use it when 100% crowds are allowed in rather than a few hundred, but that might change if the ban last too long.
-
That assumes we can get 4000 people in every week between now and the end of the season rather than a different 400 people every week for a few games in between lockdowns.
-
My point though is that even if all clubs found themselves able to let a limited number of fans in, most will not - including ourselves - as it would be a loss maker. When the English leagues trialed it with home-fans only recently, 7 clubs allowed fans in and only 2 home teams won, so at least initially there was no major advantage to those clubs (albeit a small sample size).
