  1. Last time around (with Kipré) it wasn't hard to work out the details from the annual accounts. I expect it will be the same this time. Given the plans last time to spend some of the money on training infrastructure, I imagine that will still be the case now. No doubt it will also help out with our recent drop in income. I'm sure Polworth will be happy too as this is why he was originally brought in.
  2. Lewis Morgan sends his best wishes from Inter Miami.
  3. They are full time apart from, according to their website, "Cricky Gallagher", who is " the only part-time player at Glentoran who trains five times a week with the full-time cohort at the club."
  4. The twice I have seen us get relegated (and the twice we avoided it due to a technicality) we wore claret and amber shirt and shorts. Maybe bin those too for bad ju-ju.
  5. Dixie Deans and Tam Forsyth are the first players I remember going directly to the OF. It was more prevalent in those days. Bosman reduced the traffic in that direction, but they still have a habit of trying to pick up Scottish talent without often ever making use of them. I think Turnbull is good enough to succeed anywhere, which is why I think he'd be better off outside of the SPFL. While I'm sure the money will be great and it will be nice to win an honour or two, I'm not sure playing against Livi and Accies for another few years will accelerate his development.
  6. Could we not just have a hoop on our regular shirt and a non-hoop change kit (like a classic white with C&A sash) and play the group stages in the change kit? Best of both worlds.
  7. I agree and think (and hope) that we win. According to google translate, "It will not surprise me if we lose" in Latin is "Non miror, si amittimus" I think we should make that our new club motto, though, as I don't think I've ever been surprised when any team beat us.
  8. I have no great sympathy for Celtic tonight, but the format of the Champions League where actual national champions have to play in qualifying rounds while teams that finish 4th can come in at a later round is just corrupt.
  9. Makes sense as this round is not officially the Champions League. Wasn't there some nitpicky rule when we last played in it where we couldn't play the official tune or something at our game?
  10. It's listed on the MFC TV site as available for overseas fans, but I don't think Celtic offer PPV. On the Celtic TV site they have listed for Saturday. If nobody tells the Celtic team about the date change, we might have a chance of a point.
  11. Bigi back to haunt us. Why do ex players always score against us? etc.
  12. Likewise. I also still regard McAllister to have been the most successful player we produced in my lifetime. No idea what happened to him after he stopped playing. Seems to have disappeared from the game.
  13. Given the current economic climate, installments are higher risk and I'd be looking for a larger fee to mitigate that. Last thing we need is a club filing for administration when they still owe us a million or two. Celtic are much lower risk in that regard as they have cash in the bank.
  14. Hopefully senior international appearances will be part of our add-ons.
  15. And this from the club that needed to go begging for £10 million half way through last season just to keep them afloat operationally.
  16. He made that decision last season. I can understand why someone his age might be reluctant to up sticks and move further away from home, but I think he'd do better if he did. I've resigned myself to the fact that he'll be heading to Glasgow, though.
  17. And O'Donnell - he's one of us now as well.
  18. He'll be on the Celtic bench on Sunday, so that's OK with me.
  19. Unlikely we'll get the facts. It will be "undisclosed" + reported to be in the region of + a statement from the club saying best deal ever. Details won't appear anywhere.
  20. Skippy hasn't scored for us since 2017, so would slot in quite nicely.
  21. If anybody knows a reliable goalscorer within our budget, I'm sure they could earn themselves a tasty finders fee. Anyone who complained about Porter, Higdon, Sutton etc. shortly after they arrived need not apply.
  22. I'll rip out his sticker from my Panini Album of Broken Dreams and burn it in the ashes of the Gary McAllister Euro 96 International Special Edition.
  23. Maybe it's an EPL or Bundesliga club that are making a bid and we're sitting him out for that. It will be Celtic, but I think that's a poor move for him. Not as poor a move as Rangers was for Hastie, but I think he'd do better outside of Scotland.
  24. Polworth will be fine against Glentoran.
  25. If Celtic follow their usual path of immediately loaning out the youngsters they sign (see Lewis Morgan / Ryan Christie) then they might not care if he's cup tied.
