  1. I'll see you with a 4 - 3 loss to Clyde at home in the replay, and raise the 4 - 1 defeat at home to Queen's Park in the league cup. Only made worse by the fact we failed to make up the deficit in the 2nd leg at Hampden when its capacity was 81,000 and about 81 people turned up.
  2. Just keep Stamatelopoulos away from Dunne.
  3. I always refer back to our days floundering in the old First Division when we had to endure a terrible 0 - 0 draw on a very wet Wednesday night at Boghead. And to make it worse, it was on Scotsport so we watched it again when we got home. (The rule in those days was that if they wanted to show highlights from an English game, they had to show highlights from a Scottish game - and ours was the best available; or closest to the Scotsport studio). Anyone that had a season ticket that year should be getting free hospitality suites for life Although, to be fair, I'm 100% on-board with glory hunters, because it means we're having some glory.
  4. They'd all be tough; including Falkirk (although they look out of it now).
  5. I hear the Motherwell Former Players Club has moved its office to Paisley.
  6. We can dream. Most of the live games I watch these days has no VAR, and players and fans just get on with it. Controversial decision? Moan at the ref for a minute, but shut up quickly because the ball is back in play and the game's moved on. Score a goal? Quick glance at the linesman to see it's onside then immediate celebrations. Was that a pen? Ref shakes his head, zero second stoppage. I was always against VAR for reasons I stated a few times before it was introduced. It's actually turned out worse than I feared.
  7. I gave it to Robinson tonight. Put in another good shift up top and a cracking to goal to set us (and him) on our way.
  8. Every time Jim Goodwin loses a game, the world gets a wee bit better.
  9. Louis Moult back tae haunt... ...whit? ach, never mind. Take your pick...
  10. I'd moved to England for work by that season, otherwise I'd have boosted those average attendances by about 0.05. Sorry about that.
  11. I'm hoping Zach Robinson is inspired to score against his old Dundee rivals. I'm not unhappy with his contributions, but I think a goal or two will raise his levels.
  12. It was the calls for Tommy Wright that gave me the fear. Thankfully, he relegated Killie instead.
  13. Consistent anything over the course of a season would have seen a far better league position for us, but that is the story of 6 or 7 Premiership teams every season. The differences between 10th a 6th are often very fine margins. Whether that's converting 5% more chances, conceding 5% less goals or stringing a run of 6 or 7 games together. The stat about the 13 times we didn't score is exactly why Kettlewell was not punted. Because the players were still obviously playing for him and each other, and we weren't showing the classic relegation form of folding after conceding early and going on to lose by a hat full every week.
  14. You didn't notice when he quickly sussed out Kevin van Veen was more effective in a front 2?
  15. Mixing champagne and claret sounds like the worst drink ever.
  16. If we had to recoup the same level of investment we get from the sponsors, a sponsor-free shirt would probably cost about 300 quid.
  17. Champagne shirts. Lacking in fizz and no finish. Take your pick...
  18. Moses Ebiye wins us the game with his Craig Reid tribute act in the 94th minute.
  19. As a kit it's nice. I'm still, however, not a fan of the 3rd kit idea in general.
  20. Dean Cornelius on the the telly here, playing in the Harrogate v Doncaster game.
  21. George was part of the revolution at Ipswich when Bobby Robson brought in his Dutch players. Great team to watch and very successful for a "provincial" side. Hope he kicks its arse.
  22. Derek Adams quickly coming unstuck at Morecambe.
