  1. Plus 12 of those caps were won while playing for Motherwell - which equals the record for a 'Well player, apparently.
  2. Clarke builds his teams on the basis of being difficult to beat. The fact that O'Donnell was his man at Kilmarnock and that he is better defensively than Patterson makes it likely he will continue to be first choice in most games. To keep things in perspective, Patterson (who hasn't made a league appearance this season) had a decent game against a team that just lost to the Faroes. I don't doubt he'll be a key player in future squads, but not yet.
  3. We'll be needing a more defensive line up in the Austria game. Not sure Patterson is the man for that. Of course, I'm not even sure O'Donnell is fit, so he might be out of consideration for a starting spot.
  4. At least we're guaranteed a massive boost in Tony Watt-age.
  5. People younger than me (and you) that consume all their UHD streaming content (from Netflix to Twitch to TikTok) on their phones.
  6. If you want to see how good vaccinations are just check when the last case of smallpox was recorded.
  7. "Well you found the notice didn’t you?" "Yes. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet, stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware of the Leopard'".
  8. Nobody is forcing anyone to get vaccinated. It's not a basic human right to get entry into a football match any more than it's a basic human right to smoke inside the ground or a basic human right to drive to Fir Park if you don't have a licence. It is a basic human right to not have people put your health at risk because of their personal choices. It is a scientific fact that people choosing not to get vaccinated are prolonging the spread of the virus, increasing the chances of mutation and extending the need for all the protocols we all have to deal with. There is plenty of law that surrounds human rights that goes back centuries. They all say basically the same thing: "Liberty is the power to do everything that does not interfere with the rights of others: thus, the exercise of the natural rights of every individual has no limits save those that assure to other members of society the enjoyment of the same rights.” tl;dr "Your rights end where mine begin"
  9. It seems pretty feeble and pathetic to me, so there you go.
  10. That will be to mind-control the fully vaccinated fans.
  11. The best thing about Roberts is he is an actual wide player. So won't have to compromise putting a central forward out there.
  12. Earlier in the month I read Hearts were looking to sell him to one of the English clubs that were allegedly showing interest, but they "wouldn't be difficult to deal with". I guess none of them wanted to pony up.
  13. They certainly have previous shambles experience with Covid protocols.
  14. Covid protocol related reasons for O'Donnell.
  15. To be fair, the only defensive call GA made in the Dundee game was to bring on McGinley when Carroll was red carded.
  16. He was easily their best performer any time I saw them play.
  17. I always laugh when commentators say "Joe Lewis is normally such a safe pair of hands" as he makes his once-a-month blunder.
  18. Wollery hasn't convinced me yet, although it's early days. Once everybody is fit, I'd like to see Shields and Van Veen get a run (not necessarily together, but worth a look) with Watt sitting in behind. If we do play more narrow up top, however, we to get the width from or full/wing backs.
  19. I thought Kashket was what they used to bury Sir Sean.
  20. Aye, it's a Thor yin.
  21. GA said last year he's not worried about teams passing it around in areas where it doesn't hurt us. And Dundee certainly fell into that category. Having said that, we were a pretty makeshift team ourselves at the weekend,so I'm not reading too much into it other than "good result".
  22. Wouldn't make my top 5 of worst Motherwell keepers. (Although to be fair, John Gardiner is in there 3 times).
  23. That page also says "This list is incomplete; you can help by adding missing items" - although I can't think of any that would fit the bill. Unless there was ever someone like Richard Gough who had Swedish credentials.
  24. I think GA has an idea, but with so many new players, injuries, illnesses, unfit personnel it's been difficult to put it in action. I doubt today's starting lineup is his first choice. The positive is that we've been picking up points while we try and put it together. Arguably, our best performance was the game we lost. Fitba' eh?
  25. Jim Leighton made a successful career out of never coming for a cross. He just let Big Eck or Rougvie take care of them.
