  1. Left by mutual consent. Which is usually the nice of way of saying he was sacked.
  2. They seem to like to run on small budgets there, but probably.
  3. St Mirren are the new Aberdeen when it comes to "just use Motherwell's scouting" recruitment policy.
  4. I'm impressed it was updated at all as our official site is often months behind in squad details.
  5. There were many people on here when I posted my complaints at his signing, tried to convince me that Bob Malcolm was going to be a great asset who played great football.
  6. I'm sure nobody thought I meant 100% of the global human population wore Nevica in the 80's, but just in case there is any confusion "we all wore it" is a figure of speech to suggest that there was a lot of it about. I humbly apologise to all the fashionistas who thought I was accusing them personally of wearing fluorescent jackets in the 80s.
  7. Preferred the one in Southport when I was a wean. The nearby park had a great pitch and putt too.
  8. Totally agree. And I like black shirts - just not anywhere near a football kit* *or Nazis.
  9. I tried to buy that shirt off ebay, but turned out to be a sketchy seller that didn't deliver. I'd definitely buy that as an away kit, but like UBH says, unlikely we'd ever go with green.
  10. I'd like that. One of my retro Adidas trefoil shirts is that colour.
  11. I remember one game in Perth where he was having a mini snowball fight with 'Well fans during the game.
  12. Same here. Flourescent just screams 80s Nevica to me. We all wore it. It was the 80s.
  13. Reminded me of a stick of Blackpool Rock.
  14. I don't know about bright pink, but if you go with the right approach, pink can work quite well like in this retro style.
  15. I can't form an opinion until I hear the official underboyleheating verdict.
  16. Maybe it's had to self-isolate.
  17. I'd choose Randolph over Ruddy purely on the basis that he was our player and Ruddy was a loaner. Goram at his best was probably better than either.
  18. That's my point really. With an O'Donnell or a Campbell in mid, you can afford the play maker beside them. Ally Mauchlen beside Gary McAllister is another perfect example of that balance.
  19. I think you could be right, although if we're up against Harry Kane we might need a back 6 or 7.
  20. Generally, yes. I expect ball players to be making time for themselves, picking out passes and looking to protect the ball. When we lose possesion, I expect them to be taking up good position and making themselves available for when we win it back. I didn't care that Davie Cooper, Bobby Russell, Gary McAllister or Brian McLair never tackled or got "stuck in". A well balanced midfield has tacklers, box-to-box and play makers. It's rare to have a quality ball player that is also a midfield dynamo or a hard tackler - and even more rare that we could afford someone who is. Get someone comfortable on the ball and build a midfield to protect them and let them do their job. It's a lot easier to find players who run around and tackle than it is to find a player that always makes time for a pass and has the quality to complete it. A classic example of that balance would the the French Carré Magique of Tigana, Fernandez, Giresse and Platini.
  21. They also expect a ball playing midfielder to be a hard tackling, back tracking, box-to-box dynamo.
