I'm guessing it's partly just simpler to figure it out for our own fans, and partly because allowing away fans might mean having to reduce our own fan numbers by even more. (On the Airdrie website, they still had tickets for sale on Friday, so looks like they were able to accommodate every home fan that wanted one and still have room for away fans)

While it would be nice to see a couple of signings before the QP game, the window is open until the end of August. A lot of the players from down south in particular don't become available until teams start finalising their squads next month, so if we have to wait for who we want, that's fine too.

I think the "first team squad" listed only contains about 17 or 18 genuine first team contenders right now. The others will be the Development/U20/B Team or whatever it's called now, who will hopefully have some matches to play this season,

With Carson, Gillespie and now Kelly, we've been spoiled with quality keepers again. As long as he keeps fit Trev will certainly be worth a few extra points a season for Utd.

It's trees that usually cause our blackouts. Either from wind during storms (like Elsa heading our way this evening) or in the winter, when the snow and ice accumulates, and the branches fall off onto the power lines. Although, weirdly, in the big 2003 blackout when most of the North East and some of the Midwest lost power, ours was still working.

While I was firmly in the "decent business to get the money we did" camp for Hastie, I thought then he'd have been much better staying with us in terms of career development. He's still young enough to get back on track, though, if he takes his coaching on board and works hard. Whether not that will be at Premiership level or lower league we'll find out over time.

And 'Flow saying we're hoping to add "more new faces to the squad shortly" - here's hoping that includes a midfielder with a bit of creative flair.

I'll believe it when I see the official announcement, but I always said that the players voting him as Players' Player of the Year was a masterstroke if we were hoping he'd come back. Regarding the standard of the English Leagues, I've watched a lot of them in the past couple of seasons (thanks to EPSN+ subscription) and they really are a mixed bag. There are teams in the Championship of EPL quality thanks to parachute payments and rich owners. And at the bottom of the Championship there have been teams like Leeds, Sunderland and Ipswich on a long decline that just kept dropping. Likewise in League One and League Two. A mixture of ambitious owners bankrolling teams for Championship and EPL glory, and nosediving ex-EPL teams that have imploded. Budget-wise we'd struggle to match the GA's old employers at Salford, but there are plenty of teams in League Two and League One we'd be ahead of. And the worst teams in the Championship the last couple of seasons would struggle in our Premiership. As for Baraclough, I don't think I've ever met an Englishman that didn't overrate English football or underrate Scottish football. Just like when they thought Henrik Larsson wasn't that good because he was only scoring against Scottish teams (then he won the Champions League at Barca). Same for Van Dijk who suddenly became "the best central defender in the world". (Of course you could argue we overrate our domestic game, but with guys like Doncaster in charge, someone needs to give it some credit).
