  1. That's a bit revisionist for a guy that took us the the Scottish Cup final in his first season and led us to 6th, 3rd, 2nd and 3rd league spots. (And he's hardly unique in having a poor record with us in Cup competitions, or bottling games at Ibrox. We haven't exactly set Govan on fire with our performances there before he arrived or since he left).
  2. My hearing's still good enough to hear that whooshing.
  3. It was 53 years ago, not 43.
  4. I was wondering why I don't remember seeing him play. So I looked it up. Bad news, mate - it was 53 years ago. You're older than you think!
  5. He made a comment about a black player having a doctored African passport. As he said himself, "It was a clumsy and insensitive analogy"
  6. Sounds like Aberdeen looking for some good press with their own fans before the end of the season. They've never been slow to parade their latest signing from Fir Park.
  7. He had the old Derby County stadium named after him.
  8. I'd have preferred the Hunter Stand to be the Joe Wark stand purely because I spent years on the Terrace there watching him crunch a few tackles and bomb up and down that wing a few feet away.
  9. Ian St John is the obvious one to me. Other contenders Joe Wark, Willie Pettigrew, Charlie Aitken, Bobby Ancell. This is why I don't like naming stands after players, as there are too many quality candidates who miss out. I'd be OK if they renamed it The Away Stand.
  10. No doubt the highest polling Standy McStand Face will be rejected.

Disappointed by the quality of defending on display.
  12. And for those of a certain age, "There's only one united and that's a chocolate biscuit" Shankland to score after I slagged him off in a different thread, but not enough to overcome our 3 goals.
  13. The club and the player both know the exact details of the contract and would have been able to manage any issues weeks or months in advance. Anything else posted about it on here is as credible as Trump's stolen election claims.
  14. TBH, I think they have all improved and that is down to GA instilling some confidence back in the squad.
  15. If we're playing Championship level teams, Shankland would be a good call, but the jury's still out for me on his credentials at the top level. Tony Watt's looked more effective (and I wouldn't be picking him for Scotland at this point either).
  16. I see Andy Walker has managed to get himself banned from both Ibrox and Parkhead. Although, to be fair, it's not difficult to upset the precious wee petals at either club.
  17. Prior to the redevelopment, the health slogans went straight onto the roof.
  18. Raith Rovers. Dunfermline and Dundee are both grass.
  19. He gave an interview last week where he would be open to staying and it was up to the club to make him an offer. (Of course, often that kind of statement is just a case of saying the right thing, but as Alexander has also said they are trying to re-sign him, then there is at least a chance).
  20. I'd rather we just win our next two and Killie and Accies are in the relegation spots.
  21. This. I understand that the advertising generates revenue for the club, but if there is an uglier way to display it, I don't know what that would be.
  22. We'd be mad not to have Turnbull in the squad. Much like he was in his season with us, he leads the stats again in key areas and he's been Celtic's standout player any time I've seen him. (The fact that good international form will add to his sell-on value is just a bonus).
  23. Is it not the fans that vote in those polls during the game?
