I think they are at least decent backup options, and that Gallagher would have done better than McTominay in the last two Scotland games. He certainly did OK in the appearances he's made already. I also think Gallagher has been at least as good as McKenna in the past 12 months. We're not overburdened with choices in defence at the international level, however, especially with the current injuries. So I have no issues with either one of our players being selected. It also reflects well on the club to have someone like Dec get international recognition only after joining us. If you want to go on recent form, Robertson shouldn't even be in the squad tonight, but I imagine he'll be captain and play OK.

One thing in Gallagher's favour is that I doubt he's ever played in a defensive shambles as big as Liverpool's last Sunday. I agree he's not best suited to a 3, though - but still better than McTominay in that spot.

Depends if they go back 3 or back 4, but Cooper is his main competition for a starting spot in a 3. So no doubt we'll see some strange formation that includes neither of them.

I just love the fact that, after years of complaining about the bias shown when overlooking our players for international duty, we've reached the point where the same fans are complaining the ones that are selected don't deserve it.
  5. I think it's the "I can't stand outside 12 feet away from a football fan, but I can stand beside my mate shooting grouse or take the bus and eat at McDonalds" that is more confusing,
  6. I was at that game too. Donachie's OG was something else.
  7. Ian St John was pretty good paired with anyone too.
  8. Would be nice to get some cash for Campbell of course, but at least he is one of the academy products that has stuck around for 100+ appearances. So his contribution to the club has been substantial.
  9. Not only that, but despite basically being friendlies, they were still competitive.
  10. A one in the year gave us a pretty good odds from 1886 - 1999...
  11. The numbers (and the science) aren't clear about all things, but they are pretty clear when it comes to outdoors being significantly safer than indoors.
  12. So as long as all the teams in League One and League Two win League One they might be able to pay the rent. If it's an economic (or even political) decision then just say that instead of pretending it's somehow safer to be indoors with drunk punters at 10pm then outside on a terrace at Somerset Park. For me, however, the main argument to letting the grounds re-open is that the number of clubs who would bother is probably minimal anyway - so it seems pretty low risk to just let them get on with it, and it might give us a head start to get things moving when the restrictions are eased.
  13. I doubt that League One and League Two clubs are in a better financial position than pubs.
  14. That's a domestic-only window where "Premier League clubs will only be able to trade with EFL clubs (either loans or permanent registrations). No transfers can take place between Premier League clubs in this period." Don't think Scotland (or any other country) are involved.
  15. To be fair, his communications were clear and unambiguous.
  16. Looks like Hibs have spent their midfielder kitty on Kyle Magennis with a 5 year deal.
  17. While I'm sure it's more money, that seems like a bit of a sideways step.
  18. Classic Scotland kit. Classic Wales kit. Classic Hampden. Classic Wullie P.
  19. At least now they can go back to only awarding dodgy hand-balls to the big teams. Keeping them happy is the most important aspect of the EPL financials.
  20. Halls of Fame need a supply of legends to be voted in each year. Bobby Graham was one of my favourite players too, but it's a little unfair to say Wullie P would be nothing without him. He was the highest scorer in the SPL twice. Once when Graham was at the club and once after Graham left.
  21. The problem is that if things like this keep happening all we're doing is saving up a "calling the league" situation again in May. Infection rates are increasing, not decreasing, so it's likely we are going to see more and more call-offs.
  22. Given that I could beat our defence out wide right now, it won't be a terrible signing.
  23. I think our biggest miss from last season is James Scott. Although he was a bit up and down (as you'd expect from a youngster) his ability to play out wide, but with a strikers ability, has been hard to replace. It seemed that Cole was brought in to do that job as he typically started out wide. Not sure if that is his best position, but he did improve as the season wore on. My first thought when I heard of his signing this time was also "4-3-3" otherwise you'd have to think we are either ditching another striker or someone has an injury we don't know about.
