  1. The official site says it will let Ndjoli play in his more natural central position (although I'm sure when he signed he was touted as a wide player). First of all, I have nothing against Scott leaving - if he felt it was a good deal, more power to the guy. Given that he was in and out of the team (and form) for us, I'd be surprised of he gets much of a sniff of Hull's first team at this stage, but stranger things happen in football. Last moan on the subject - selling a developing youngster with two and a half years left on his contract and bringing in two short term loans to develop for other teams to sell on, is not the way to develop the team at the grass roots level. If we just want to make money, we could scrap the academy and focus on recruitment of guys like Johnson, Moult, Hall and Kipre to flip for a quick profit. I hope, we are better than that, but for a club that keeps saying we are in good financial shape and don't "need" to sell anyone, there's not much locally sourced produce left in stock. I'm shutting up now.
  2. If that was the case, why would Hull bid £750k instead of enough to trigger the release clause? Or is your assumption that the club had to say YES a load of shite?
  3. We say "No. We don't have time to bring in a replacement, and we have enough belief in the player and the coaching staff to think he'll be better and more valuable by the summer of 2021 - when he'll still have a year left on his contract."
  4. I'd much rather watch Scott and Turnbull on the pitch than read the balance statement. I'd also rather see us give ourselves the best chance of a cup final and a Euro spot this season than cash in too early on our young players. I don't pay my 'Well Society subs to help agents profit from my contributions, and while I totally understand there has to be compromise between finances and football, football always has to come first.
  5. Turnbull was offski - but at least he could claim he was a first team regular. (I'd still have kept him another season, though). And Scott only got a few games towards the end of last season when there was nothing to play for. Good experience, but hardly a crack. This has been his breakthrough season, and it seems we're happy to offload him - and on the last day of the window. If Scott goes, then Campbell will be the only academy graduate playing on Saturday.
  6. I also hope this "sell our youngsters before they manage a full season" trend is something that we see the end of soon. As I've said in other threads, the main point of the academy is to develop a quality of player we could never afford to buy. Of course selling them on for a profit is an import aspect - but that should be secondary. The only reason for our club (or any club) to exist is to entertain the fans. If we choose to flog all our young talent 6 months after they establish a first team spot, then we start to lose the ethos of developing our own.
  7. Robinson's main criticism about Scott is his lack of physicality - especially given his size. I've enjoyed watching him this season, but he's shown all the inconsistency you's expect from a youngster learning the game. I don't think he's anywhere near ready to play against the top Championship defences yet, but more power to him if he can.
  8. I read yesterday that nobody had made any move for Ross Stewart. I'd take him as a replacement.
  9. I'd gladly take a "Polworth + Gallagher : Sloth" success/failure ratio every window.
  10. If that's true, I would hope we've already replaced him. If he's off to Hull, I can't see him playing much more first team football this season - not quite ready for the physicality of Championship defences.

    Hospitality

It's a long time since we did the Cooper Box hospitality - (lost to Dundee and Nacho Novo scored!) - and it's changed a lot since then. We've done the Centenary Suite a few times in recent seasons and it has been excellent. As well as the meal and the bar, they have an MC keeping things going before, during and after the game and typically have a few players dropping in for interviews and MoTM presentations.
  12. Just taking advantage a free FA Cup weekend, I think (at least that's what the commentator on MFC TV said).
  13. This is going to be a tough one. I think it's only Aberdeen (2 - 0) and Rangers (1 - 0) that have beaten Livi at home so far this season. We drew - which I said at the time was a decent effort - and Celtic lost. Any kind of a win would be a great result.
  14. The safest approach, as even the video highlights of games on that pitch can make your eyes bleed.
  15. I wasn't there, so all I remember is how poorly we played - thanks in large part to the gaffer going into "overthinking it" mode which he did from time to time.
  16. Welcome to our Society. In a few days you will receive the secret scrolls that explain the meaning of the paint on the stairs in the East Stand and a map of the tunnels between the Phil O'Donnell Stand and The Electric Bar.
  17. I was at the Accies game a few seasons ago (Louis Moult, 1 - 0) where we filled the away stand and had some extra in the gazebo.
  18. And, by all accounts, Gomes' injury was a clean break and dislocation - which is pretty straightforward (from a medical perspective).
  19. Sounds like we'll have a decent crowd to see us dominate a game for 89 minutes and lose 1 - 0 to a deflected shot in the 90th,
  20. I don't think Richard Gordon or Willie Miller hide the fact they are Aberdeen fans either. To be honest, I'd much rather listen to anybody talking about any non-OF club than listen to one more second about the ugly sisters. However, I just avoid it all by not listening to any of it (except for Off the Ball sometimes).
  21. Do you think we are chipping in with Tam Cowan's wages?
  22. I think he's been dining out on the "scored the winner against Barcelona" for a few years. When he played for St Johnstone I don't remember thinking "I wish we'd signed him" so I'd need some convincing.
  23. I'm not sure how any Aberdeen fan's bitterness about us nicking the runners up spot could be anything less than very entertaining.
  24. Glossing over the 2 -1 defeat in the 2016/17 Scottish Cup doesn't mean in never happened.
