Pretty much going as I expected, with Killie defending tight and deep and scoring chances at a premium. We've looked most threatening when Scott and Hylton ran at their defence, so hopfeully we can step that up in the second half.

Might mean we stop hitting every single corner into the same place now, too.

Twice now we've opened them up with an injection of pace. Need a bit more of that.

I have no problem with Murphy as a player or person. I would have concerns that someone his age, out for such a long time, and with zero game time, zero match fitness and questionable actual fitness could offer us much in the second half of the season. If we were taking him at the start of a pre-season it would be a different story.

I imagine Turnbull will be fit again before Murphy. If we did take him, I hope it's a pay-for-play kind of deal because there is no evidence he will ever recover to anywhere near the level he was at before his injury.

Scott has blown a bit hot (St Mirren) and cold (Hearts), but I'd start him for this game. In part, because he has spent half his youth career playing on plastic pitches.

I was shocked at how poor Tait was in the Hearts cup game this season, as he had been one of our most consistent players. I had thought it was just a bad day at the office, but his subsequent appearances have been well below the standards he had set in previous years. He seems a bit young for age to have caught up with him, but there's no arguing he's been a yard off the pace any time he's played this season. (And I say this as someone who has been a big fan of Tait since he joined the club).

I seem to remember we had to significantly increase our coaching staff numbers to qualify for Project Brave.

Reading the stories in the media and reacting to it (positively or negatively) is exactly what they want. When it comes to OF games, I don't even bother looking at the related stories for the week after because I know the kind of mince that's going to be in there.

I'd imagine that Hartley's on the bench because he was sick from the bug that went round and not yet fit enough to start.

He might have walked away for all we know. A charge is just a charge and might be dismissed after the procurator fiscal reviews it. Could just as easily speculate a Hearts fan recognised him and decided to cause a bit of bother, or someone yelled at one of his kids. We have nothing but speculation at this stage.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, this the best Rangers team we have faced for at least a decade. Given our track record we had less chance of a victory than Corbyn. (A little bit of politics there. Don't forget to tip your bar staff.)

I don't have any first hand knowledge of the situation, but the reporting at the time was along the lines of "the club has known about his intention to leave for some time" and "happy with the depth if youngsters at the club". Not the usual "he's a great kid and we wish him well" spiel. Read into that what you will. I think Celtic were interested at some point too when he was being touted as the next big thing - which obviously hasn't worked out that way yet. Still young enough to change that, though.

I think the chase for the league title will be enough to keep them motivated.

The biggest difference - as we saw in our game against Celtic - is that against teams like St Mirren, Livi, St Johnstone, Hearts etc. when we give away a half-chance at the back or miss a chance up top it doesn't hurt us. Against a better team, they are more likely to take advantage of it with a striker that earns more in a year than our entire team's salaries combined. Despite his record against Celtic, Morelos is a bit more dangerous than Ikpeazu.

Big difference between playing a training game while resting players that are injured etc. than getting kicked off the park on a Wednesday night in Perth.
