Depends why they wanted to invest. A look across to New Douglas Park shows how weird and sketchy some of these deals can be.

I agree about the admin threat. I expect we'd have found a away to keep afloat without that, probably with Boyle's assistance. Although it does seem we were operating on a business model that was 100% reliant on JB propping us up which, as Gretna and others found out, is unsustainable and dangerous. I was dubious about the consortium, but given some of the stranger developments down south and at clubs like Partick Thistle, it might not have been as wide of the mark as I thought.

I suspect that this week the clubs will be reviewing applications and drawing up lists of targets, but hold off interviewing until the international break.

I've never met Les, had any dealings with Les and not even sure I've listened to any of his interviews so I can't comment on his likability. There is no doubt, however, that he imposed a structure on our club that even the Directors admitted had become so lax that we were losing money when we were doing well in the league, and had no contingency for poor seasons or relegation. The scouting model, transfer model and governance model have all been dramatically improved and Les is responsible for all of that. We need to make sure we don't slowly fall back into our old habits and get carried away when we have relative success, or start spewing transfer income on wasteful projects. First point of order should be building a cash reserve that won't be touched except in emergencies.

I don't think so. Just that we didn't stand in their way of a move. I don't think Cadden's fee can be zero after the MSL signed up to the FIFA programme this season to protect their own interests. It just might not be as much as if it was a straight deal with an English club. Anyway, we'll see some more details in the next set of accounts. It would be strange if we didnt use the existing arrangement to pay off interest free loans, so the cash should have come from transfers only.

Hearts are a good marker for current costings. Their stand upgrade cost £15 million (plus 3 million for surrounding infrastructure upgrades). It's nothing to do with "lazy design" - just cold, hard economics that says we'd struggle to afford anything more than a shoebox, subbuteo, special (with no "L" word required).

St Mirren don't have a mortgage. They sold their old ground to Tesco at peak market for £15 million. The state of supermarkets' finances these days make that an unlikely option. They built their new ground for £8 million. A classic square steel box with cramped seats. I might be on my own here, but I don't want any of my 'Well Society contributions being spent on a loan to pay off something like that.

I suspect that of the two imminent new managers in Edinburgh, one will be looking for a new job again in the summer. I just don't know which one.

Depends if we are trying to negotiate one of our add-on specials, or just going for a plain development fee I'd guess. However, I was looking at the money transfers we'd had since our last accounts were published and there are quite a few e.g. Kipré - obviously the big one with talk of around £1 million Rose - undisclosed Bowman - undisclosed Ross MacLean - undisclosed Bigi - undisclosed Danny Johnson - undisclosed Reece McAlear - undisclosed Then there are the McKinstry, Cadden and Hastie fees. Even if none of them were huge money, it all starts to add up.

If he wants to be able to commute home every weekend, his options might be limited either side of the border. Not every club is accommodating as ours.
-
Dedicated training facilities, particularly for the winter training sessions, would certainly make sense.

The idea that we can afford to move into some bespoke stadium is pure fantasy. I doubt we could afford a St Mirren style effort even if we sold Fir Park

212 million Norwegian Krone in 1997. About £17.5 million in 1997 money and £27 million in today's money. (That's me done working out Norwegian conversion and inflation rates).
-
Aeslund's stadium cost 160 million Norwegian Krone to build in 2005. According my brief search on the internet, that's about £13.5 million in 2005 money and nearly £20 million in 2019 money after you take inflation into account.

Managers either get sacked for failing or poached for succeeding. If you have to choose, being poached for succeeding is preferable. Hearts would be mad not to include him in their list of targets, but they won't be short of options given the relative size of the club and their budget.
-
So did Accies, but I wouldn't fancy a plastic pitch and 3 sided stadium. Falkirk, on the other hand, didn't fare so well.
-
Livi are pretty proficient at dragging teams down to their level of scrappiness - it's how they play. Even more so when on their home plastic, which is why I was quite happy when we drew there at the start of the season.

We're a Poundland Liverpool
-
Quite possibly. It was certainly a great example of a forward trying to defend.
-
Aye, Campbell was a bit off today, but at least he kept at it rather than hiding.
-
Based purely on the dotted line on the BBC League table, it looks like top 3.
-
Wasn't it Hutchinson's daughter that suggested it to him?
-
Another good 3 points. Pity the Aberdeen v Killie game wasn't a draw, but keeps us in 3rd.
-
Campbell doesn't care. I remember Cadden joking he kept a book at home with all the names of people that took the ball off him in training.
-
Odds on Campbell crunching the Livi player that was in his face after scoring?
