  1. The bars at Fir Park open a 9:30am too, if you're needing to calm your nerves.
  2. Aye, he was a bit secret squirrel (understandably), but it sounded more like contract extensions than new faces.
  3. Also confirmed by Robinson himself in his presser this morning.
  4. I've invested in a couple of VPNs. Tunnelbear is the simplest to use and install and Vypr VPN which offers a few more features and is more configurable. Vypr offered me 1GB of free data as a trial before I invested in a subscription. I waited for good deals on both, but even their standard rates aren't too bad if you plan to use them regularly. NordVPN is probably the one you are thinking of - and that is well regarded too. (Be aware that sites like the BBC can sometimes block VPN access, but a little tweaking of your brower or a reconnect of the VPN app usually fixes the problem).
  5. If you have an Android device, install Mobdro (available here) and search for BBC One Scotland. All the installation instructions are on that website too. Otherwise, on the day, I'm sure some people will post live stream links on here.
  6. Very true - although we weren't saving ourselves for a Cup Final in that game... I doubt Accies will need anything from this game anyway. I can see them scraping enough points to stay in 10th.
  7. In the unlikely event that Accies need to beat us on the last day, they will stroll to their 3pts as our players will either have downed tools for the summer after securing 7th or 8th spot (or our first team is being rested for the cup final).
  8. These days it's not about Rangers and Celtic as much as it's about the broadcasters wanting to get as much value from their coverage of the OF. Our club (who wanted Rangers to stay in the top flight you might recall) has been as complicit as all the others in creating this situation. We have fully backed the league structure, the TV deals, the uneven split of prize money and the voting rules - not to mention supporting guys like Reagan and Doncaster.
  9. It's live on the BBC - so even if you don't have access to a VPN to watch it on iPlayer, it should be easy to find a stream. It will be iPlayer and bacon rolls for me.
  10. All of the above, plus I suspect a lot of the long distance support thought Betfred semi and final were all they'd get this season and put their spare funds into those games. I know I certainly couldn't afford 3 (or 4) trips to Hampden in one season.
  11. I like Ciftci and would love to see what we offers after a full pre-season. You need to play to his strengths, though, rather than punt long, high balls in his direction and hope he reaches one. That's like knocking balls over the full backs and expecting Big Higdon to chase them down.
  12. Any time I have seen Crawford play (in person or on telly) he has been Accies' best player. His form might have dipped recently, but I'm not surprised given the agricultural style they have adopted on that abomination of a pitch. I'd much rather we expanded our style to include guys like Crawford than bring in more of the same who struggle to pass to one of our players 3 times in a row.
  13. That's certainly where he'll make his money. Surprised he stayed with Accies as long as he did.
  14. When he played in Ireland, he apparently had a partnership with Trevor Molloy that totalled 35 goals. Between the two of them at Fir Park, they scored exactly as many as I did.
  15. I see Ali Crawford is leaving Accies in the summer. He could do the proverbial job in our midfield - although I suspect he'll be aiming a little higher (or a little better paid).
  16. Even if the only advantage was the 2nd leg at home in a 2-leg final, that is huge. The other advantages are just gravy.
  17. I remember Nevin destroying us at Fir Park one night in a Cup game (4 -3 after extra time, I think). He must have been 18 or 19 at the time.
  18. I'm not underestimating anybody. The entire play-off system is designed to massively favour the Premiership team. From the rapid succession of games for the Championship team to qualify (while 11th place gets a nice rest), to playing a 2-leg final with the 2nd leg at the ground of the Premiership side. If it was a one-off game in a neutral venue with 2nd place Championship automatically playing 11th place Premiership - no qualification rounds - the Championship team would have a much better chance.
  19. Whoever finishes 11th will win the play-off. There's nobody in the Championship play-offs spots that looks anywhere near good enough to come through that.
  20. Probably equates to about the amount of injury-free training time he has managed to put in. He seems to be one of those players that will never manage 4 consecutive weeks of fitness.
  21. The Francis Jeffers role in the St Johnstone semi would certainly do nicely.
  22. The big difference there is that the first two are professional journalists and authors. That's why the quality of sport coverage on telly and radio has been dropping. Sticking a footballer in front of a microphone and expecting them to be insightful isn't likely to produce a good result. Of course there are one or two exceptions, but even after all these years, Gary Lineker still sounds like he's reading from the autocue.
  23. Cifcti's certainly not fit - not surprising given his time away from first team football. But I don't think he looks very fat.
