Aye, it's no slight on him as a human being. He just struggled to follow the number one rule of audio commentary - describe the action. We need to hear "Tanner steps inside Reynolds and goes down after a late tackle" rather than "REFEREE! C'MON REF. REF! THAT WAS..! REF! COME..ON...!" Which isn't easy, I'm sure, as a fan - and something a lot of us would struggle with. Guys like Hartley have been fun because they provide a lot of insight into players only they have. And Craggs tonight brought his professional game, but with a wee bit more Motherwell bias. Anyway, the last few have been very good, so well done to all involved.

Sounded from mixlr that we played a bit better second half. Good 3 points we sorely needed. -

He's on a permanent contract until summer 2019. -

Craggs agrees we didn't have creative players on the park. Wonder if we have earned the right to play them yet. -

Grinding out a 1 goal deficit then telling Tanner and Bigi to win the game in the last 20 mins. -
There's no doubting Graham's passion for the club and all round enthusiasm for the games. Unfortunately, that doesn't always translate well into commentary (or co-commentary). So there were often long spells of loud yelling, and sustained rants about refereeing decisions etc. - over the top of actual commentary, so you couldn't hear what was going on. And, ultimately, the one thing a commentator needs to do is describe the action to the listeners. I imagine that would make it difficult for any fan to commentate, as we'd all act as if we were in the crowd rather than with the necessary detachment.

That's a great plan - until you discover your 11 best players playing in their best position means we line up 6-2-2. -

Right, but for me, "mixing it" doesn't mean 60 minutes of slogging it out followed by 30 minutes of football. It means playing our football from the start, when we have the ball, and working hard to press and win it back when we don't. It's not an either/or proposition. -

And yet, good teams manage to play football in the first 20 minutes. Look at the way McCall and McGhee had us playing when we were at the top of the table. Take the game to the opponents for the first hour and then hang on if we had to. The way we play now, we often end up one or two goals down and then have to play catch up in the last quarter of the game. -
Looking at some of the comments from Bradford fans, they were quite happy with the job McCall has been doing and did not want him sacked.

Aye, I'm not sure I buy into this "earn the right to play football" philosophy. If anything, I'd rather we played out football from the start and used our hard men to close out a game. Much better than chasing 1 or 2 goal deficits for the last 30 minutes. -

I think we need more ball playing and guile in the midfield. We've been crying out for a creativity since Nicky Law left us. -
I wish my memory was as good as you think! I'll need to see if I can find the details now. Was post Brian Heron - probably late 70s. I watched it from the enclosure in front of the main stand. EDIT: found it. I had a sneaking suspicion it was when we were both in the First Division, and sure enough, it was in the 1979/80 season (when Hearts won the title and were promoted and we finished a lowly 6th under Ally MacLeod).

Not that it helps us, but on the evidence of the Liverpool v Spurs game earlier today, the top flight officials in the EPL are just as poor. -

I understand injuries can put you out a game. If you are burned out from playing by the time December rolls around, however, it might not be the profession for you. -
I am definitely not in the Boyd hating camp. I remember when he broke into the first team and played a sweeper like role. It was obvious then he was a good reader of the game - he was just a bit slow at that point. By the time we switched him to left back he was a yard quicker and an excellent player. Just not as good as Mr. Wark. I really don't care what he said or did after he left us. I saw him lift the Cup at Hampden and that is good enough. I find the sectarian views of Psycho (O'Neill not the original, Forbes) pretty small minded and offensive too, but that doesn't make his semi-final goal any less enjoyable.
-
In all the years I watched Joe Wark, I only remember seeing him make one mistake. It was against Hearts and cost us an early goal. Joe was visibly annoyed about it and played the rest of the game like a man possessed. He set up a goal for us shortly afterwards and led us to a 4 - 2 victory.
-
Joe Wark by the proverbial country mile - even against the others in that list.

There's no point in worrying about our dip in form at the end of last year. There's no magic formula to instantly turn around a team that was playing so badly. Fact is that since the break, our only defeat was by one goal against Hibs - and we are still in the cup. Still plenty of room for improvement? No doubt. Are we in a better place in Feb than we were in December? No doubt. Am I getting fed up with us having to come back from losing the first goal? No doubt. -

Never ceases to amaze me how many teams we play that score with their only shot on target. -
Cough cough.... tellt yi....

Aye, I was very disappointed to hear he had signed for Hibs, but didn't make an appearance last night.

Aye, if you're planning on buying it in Texas, you might need to ask for something different.
