  1. Actually, I think the same starting 11 after a winter break could win this game. Obviously, that can't happen, but we were mostly in control until we lost Campbell.
  2. Robinson has stated on a few occasions there were targets lined up to replace Moult. Of course, that chat started in the summer, so some targets may not be available this window. I'd be fine with a quality loan if it means we get our main target in the summer.
  3. If we cut out the mistakes, we can win this one. If we gift goals and miss chances like Saturday's game, it will be a short campaign.
  4. Same here. Every season, avoiding relegation is the top priority. I'm not too surprised we are where we are right now. The fixture list was weirdly skewed (even by SPFL standards), but we made the most of the easier start. My thoughts were that we'd struggle early with all the new faces in the squad then get up to speed later in the year. As it turned out we did the reverse, but the end result was the same. The other problem we faced recently is bringing in the 2nd string players as backups. When everybody is fit, the first team was pretty much picking itself. That has meant little game time for the backups and regardless of how much they train and practice, the high tempo/high press Robinson prefers needs hard game time to perfect. And, as usual, some of the new signings haven't met expectations - that's pretty typical and I have been pleasantly surprised that such a large number have worked out. Even worse was that we lost our 4 best players in 4 different areas. Keeper, defence, midfield and strikeforce. Losing 4 average players in those areas would have been difficult to manage, but most team s would struggle losing a Carson, Hartley, Cadden, Moult combo. Common wisdom is that it takes 3 windows for a manager to build his own team (although I have seen 2 - 3 years mentioned too). Robinson met his first objective which was to bring the average squad age down and add some power and speed. The next window is a test, but it's not always easy to find top talent in January. As long as Robinson is learning from his mistakes, I'm happy to keep him in place.
  5. Bowman certainly put in a shift on Saturday. I wasn't a big fan of playing him so wide, but like you say, he did set up a few chances from there. We really need to get a wide player that can consistently start, though.
  6. He's been great for us this season. A repeat of his behaviour against Accies, however, is not acceptable. He already put us on the road to defeat when he sold the 2nd goal. Getting suspended is letting the team down. It's also a bit hypocritical for someone who loves to dish out the verbals to lose it when someone gives it back. Suck it up and move on to beating them in the next game - instead of getting suspended for the next game. I'll still be delighted if we can sign him up permanently, though.
  7. When we sold our best players directly to Celtic and Rangers it used to bother me, but players move clubs so often these days some will inevitably end up at the OF. If Moult had been sold to Rangers, THAT would have been upsetting.
  8. Did Brighton not say they had no intention of selling him? Either way, I'm firmly in the not bothered camp.
  9. I heard it. Same thing as he's been saying eleswhere. Thanking everyone for making him and his family feel at home, best goals were the Rangers semi and late Accies equalizer. Also mentioned his 4 against Accies at Fir Park.
  10. Aye, he gave his 4th or 5th farewell speech just before the game.
  11. I felt cheated that he wasn't on crutches when he appeared.
  12. That's why his role yesterday made sense, as he had more time there. If Robinson serious about getting rid of "so-called ball players" he'll be getting rid of this so-called fan too. There's plenty of teams that play the high pressing game that can play a bit of football too -it's not an either/or proposition. The teams that are scrappers-only are almost always in the bottom 6.
  13. Woooo, skippy comeback! Assuming its the promotion playoff places
  14. Tanner was decent. I liked Bigi's first half performance sitting in front of the back line, but it speaks volumes that Campbell's 44 mins was probably enough for MOTM.
  15. I agree with that - we might have cover for left back if Plummer ever gets fit - but that remains to be seen.
  16. For a guy who says he doesnt like to single out players in public, he sure likes to single out players in public
  17. I meant I fancied them both to score today. I agree it's unlikely they'll be the starting strikers.
  18. A Newell / Tanner combo wins the game for us today.
  19. If the game is off due to half an inch of wet snow I'll be asking the club to refund my plane ticket. You play your way out of slumps, not by bricking it and hiding.
  20. In previous seasons, almost certainly. However, we should have enough in the bank to secure Hartley and keep Cedric. We're already short of cover at the back, so losing Cedric would mean we need to find 2 more defenders in January. If I had to chose though, you're right - Hartley meets our immediate needs.
  21. Spot on. We have far too many supporters that bang on about blooding youngsters then turn on them when they make mistakes or are inconsistent.
  22. Cedric has the youth pedigree and the potential to be a player. He'd certainly be worth a punt for any team that sees 6 figure transfer fees as small change. I'd be disappointed if he left in Jan though.
  23. We have slipped down the league while Moult is still 100% our player. That's why we need to do more than replace only him.
  24. And yet, despite all that, they sit comfortably in 3rd place above this all and sundry they keep dropping points to. I have lived in the US for just over 20 years. The last time we won a league game at Ibrox I was living in the UK. If we had a fully fit first team out tonight we'd still have lost. That's how we roll.
  25. I'm expecting at least 3 new faces in Jan.
