  1. Why would anybody want less fans at a game? The '91 Cup Final was full of people who were just there for the occasion. I was standing beside mates who are Accies fans and one mate who is a Celtic fan. I can't imagine enjoying it any more if they hadn't been there. We should be encouraging as many non-Well fans as possible to every game - we might end up converting one or two.
  2. Everyone who had a season ticket when we were in the First Division should get priority. Those are the real fans. The johnny-come-latelys that jumped on the bandwagon when we started playing in Europe are just glory hunters at best. I didn't see them at Boghead on a wet Wednesday night. Overseas fans should also get priority as the further you travel the better a fan you are. I'm joking. If we make it to the final, everyone who wants a ticket will have no bother getting one. Same as it has always been. No seethe required.
  3. Maybe 10k non-Ranger supporters once you add in the neutrals and the corporate hangers-on. But 10k 'Well fans unlikely.
  4. For as long as I can remember the England U21s (and U23s) are always better than their Scottish counterparts. Partly as Melvin points out because they have some Premiership starters to choose from and partly because they are always bigger and fitter. So even if the skills match up, bigger and fitter will usually prevail.
  5. That will be next year when the lease on Hampden expires. I see in the papers today the SFA is considering its options.
  6. I don't think so. It was just a reference to Busta's comment the other day that went over the head of some new posters.
  7. I haven't really been involved in recent ticket sales, but from memory I thought Season Ticket holders and Well Society members had the same priority in the past.
  8. Was thinking that myself. Unless they are season ticket holders, club owners have to fight it out in the general sale. Seems a bit off.
  9. It was the guys that did this, I think:
  10. Kilmarnock now are in a similar position to Hibs a few years ago. There are issues that run deep in the club that changing the manager and players every season won't fix.
  11. I think it's Celtic Champions League schedule that made it more difficult to find a clear midweek slot close to the original date.
  12. Aye, never mind. Wasn't paying attention to the thread.
  13. The 2011 semi against St Johnstone? Those are on youtube.
  14. Would like to see Tanner get more of a run, but I can see why that's unlikely to happen right now given the form of those in possession of the starting jerseys. Guys like Tanner, Frear and Bigi offer something over and above the hard pressing intensity so it's nice to be able to switch it up during a game.
  15. If we ever had a keeper crisis, is the boy at Airdrie not available in emergencies?
  16. I don't see any rush being made to pay off Boyle and Les early. From a business perspective, it would be pretty stupid to not make use of an interest free line of credit for as long as it's available. Everybody seems quite happy with the current arrangement. I imagine, like most members, I'll be keeping an eye on the books every year and assessing if my contribution is still being well spent and/or needed. I certainly have no problem contributing in my current situation as I rarely get to pay gate money and a season ticket is fairly pointless.
  17. After he was made to pay it back, the media reported that his deal was:
  18. I know, it drives me nuts. The days when we were actually qualifying for things, we'd have a domestic game on a Saturday, international on a Wednesday, and back to domestic the next Saturday.
  19. Considering they operate in a different century half the time, it was good work by texanwellfan.
  20. Will you need to rebook your travel if it's on Sunday? The date's right. The day's wrong.
  21. Just watching Moult's presser this morning you can tell (as if we needed reminded) that even if he signed a pre-contract he'd be out there giving us 100% every week. Also can tell there's no way he's signing a new deal, but we all knew that too.
  22. If staying in the top flight is worth 1 million to us, he's probably earned us more than any sell-on clause already. This season's cup run has also probably generated more revenue than Aberdeen offered for him in the summer. So while a sell-on clause would be ideal, I think Moult has already given us a massive return on a negligible investment.
