  1. Just watching Moult's presser this morning you can tell (as if we needed reminded) that even if he signed a pre-contract he'd be out there giving us 100% every week. Also can tell there's no way he's signing a new deal, but we all knew that too.
  2. If staying in the top flight is worth 1 million to us, he's probably earned us more than any sell-on clause already. This season's cup run has also probably generated more revenue than Aberdeen offered for him in the summer. So while a sell-on clause would be ideal, I think Moult has already given us a massive return on a negligible investment.
  3. Here's Robinson's back-of-a-fag-packet calculation on what Moult is worth (from today's Evening Times).
  4. A lot of that depends on who we bring in, too. I doubt the replacements we had lined up in the summer are still available, but we may still have options.
  5. Exactly. I suppose a team might pay a fee to make sure they don't lose out on a pre-contract, but 650k sounds high. Unless, by that stage he is Louis "League Cup Winning Hat Trick Hero" Moult.
  6. I know. Not sure what that's got to do with my point, though.
  7. We didn't have a huge support in the play-off at Ibrox, but there was plenty of noise generated that the player said they could hear (and appreciate). Best tactic, of course, is to score a couple early and shut up the other mob.
  8. I actually like the fact the Bigi slows the game down. We have needed someone who can put his foot on the ball and look for a pass. Of course, like was said, he will need to get used to the style and speed of our game - but if he does, he could be a great asset.
  9. I think lack of creativity is going to be our achilles heel this season. Saying that, I think we made the right moves in the transfer market during the summer, and what we have will keep us safe. It takes 3 or 4 windows to build a squad and we covered our immediate needs. I remember managers like McLean following the same strategy. It wasn't until he had made us difficult to beat that we brought in guys like Russell, Cooper and Coyne.
  10. On the plus side, if I had to choose which one of the double header we'd win, would definitely have been Thursday's.
  11. I wonder if it's being captain that has affected McHugh's form. Maybe trying a bit too hard, or focusing on different things.
  12. I agree with all of this. We just need to be sure we're thinking long term as well as short and don't leave ourselves open to loss of control 10 years down the line.
  13. At least he's getting a game. Noticed another speed merchant, Lionel, was an unused sub again today. Don't think he's made an appearance yet.
  14. The Scotsman runs a weekly article on "4 Interesting Stats". One of the ones this week is about Campbell. Impressive.
  15. If history is anything to go by, it will be Aberdeen that come knocking for Robinson.
  16. They have it in some competitions, but I haven't heard of it in this one.
  17. They certainly did in the summer. A Plan A and a Plan B, according to Craggs.
  18. I'm sure you're right. And like I said, I'm not looking for instant answers on here. No doubt we'll get more details over the coming week or two and I'm not overly concerned for the immediate future. Just want to make sure that we don't do anything that could have a negative impact 30 years from now. Overall, though, I think it's a great idea and look forward to hearing more.
  19. I just want a few so I can call myself "an overseas investor/owner of the club". I'm not expecting all the answers are available yet, just throwing the questions out there. I know it's often possible to issue non-voting stock, and that would be my preferred approach. It should all be moot as long as The Society retains the majority shareholding in the club, but stranger things have happened than a businessman (or consortium) finding novel ways to take over a football club.
  20. Right, but I have no idea what current shareholder benefits are as far as voting rights are concerned. It probably won't make a huge difference in the grand scheme of things, but it would be a shame if Society members who are also shareholders get more voting rights than people who are just Society members.
  21. Regarding the shares - would they offer voting rights? I like the idea (although not sure we could 50,000), but would be a shame if the Society's approach of one-member-one-vote was compromised in any way.
  22. Robinson said in his post match he'd likely freshen up the team for Sunday. Whether that means the starting 11 or the bench I guess we'll see. Presumably that will also depend on whether or not we have any knocks or niggles. I suspect Aberdeen will be a bit smarter next time around. We really seemed to catch them off guard last night.
  23. 6,430 according to the Beeb. 4,400+ of which were 'Well fans, according to Official Twitter.
  24. I have a feeling Bigi and/or Frear will get a run out at some stage to give them a different look to think about.
  25. Different ballgame on Sunday. Aberdeen know what to expect now - plus it's a different mentality from a cup game. Will be interesting to see if McInnes tries to match up with us or take a different approach.
