  1. We'll need to agree to disagree on that one. Carroll had scored 6 goals in his previous 3 EPL seasons combined before joining West Ham, and a grand total of 20 EPL goals in his 7 season EPL career. That proved to be a good predictor of his goal scoring form and his injury record. After West Ham forked out the £15 million, he played another 6 seasons for them scoring 26 goals total (never reaching double figures in any season and only making more than 20 apperances in 1 out of those 6).
  2. You just lost sight of him in the long grass.
  3. The same West Ham who willingly paid £15million for Carroll, yes. And they paid that 15 million knowing Carroll had picked up an injury playing for them on loan. An injury that kept him out the side for 6 months after they coughed up that transfer fee.
  4. Just Ross County and ourselves that have won 3 out of 3 so far, so can't be too disappointed with the current form.
  5. I suspect Sloth was brought in to play that role, but difficult to tell until we see him get some decent playing time.
  6. Nope. Now ask me a difficult one
  7. I knew it reminded of another kit. That's the one.
  8. I hate audio-only commentaries. Hartley makes it 2 - 0.
  9. I thought the rule was that the ref only evens things up if it's the "wee" team that benefitted from a dodgy decision. BTW, somebody needs to tell the MFC commentator to put his mic on mute when he sniffs.
  10. Sounds like we've been in control without making too many clear chances. And struggling a bit with the long grass holding up the ball (sneaky Hearts tactic). Hylton just hit the post there too.
  11. Ilic makes the breakthrough after linesman changes his mind about an offside. 1 - 0.
  12. Sounds like Dumbarton have kept the grass long to try and hamper our silky football.
  13. Seems like a reasonable rotation.
  14. Never good when the DTs return - early or late.
  15. Aye, I think they have just put him on first team wages. No extension.
  16. A lot will depend on whether Dumbarton decide to park the bus tonight, or decide they can go for it in a game where the result is meaningless to them.
  17. The amount of money EPL teams spent on Andy Carroll - a player they all knew was constantly crocked - suggests otherwise.
  18. F1 itself, however, promotes the glamour of cars. And car emissions are destroying the planet's climate.
  19. If you're referring to our League Cup group, I agree.
  20. Noticed him in the list of free agents earler in the week. Not a bad punt for County.
  21. Agree with the Cash Convertors point. Also, for me, companies like Facebook are doing far more damage to society than just about any other business I can think of.
  22. Probably true. Athough much less of a gamble for an EPL team drinking from the money hose, than for team a like Celtic. (Of course, Celtic is still by far the most likely destination at the end of it all).
  23. That's the key for me. Whether we break into the top 6 or not, I think we are likely to have more entertainment at Fir Park this time around. And outside of winning a trophy, that's why we turn up every week.
  24. BTW, I don't disagree with the notion that some gambling, and alcohol and cigarette (and Cash Converter) companies push their products to the less well-off. Where I take isssue is when people think that banning these companies is the solution. It's certainly a great campaign slogan and an easy bandwagon for government and activists to jump on. What it fails to address is the actual poverty and deprivation of the communities that are being targeted. That is a more important problem to address, and will take much more effort to solve. And governments (especially ones of the current shade of blue) aren't too interested in solving hard problems; especially when they can stay in power without those votes.
