  1. Glad he's found a team he actually wants to play for. Hopefully he keeps it up and gets us a nice sell on fee. Although "final ball let him down" has been his weak point for a few years.
  2. If any team that is worried about someone's weight is unable to help that player add weight, they need to fire their fitness team.
  3. He should certainly be scoring for fun in that Division. He'll probably hit some form, be snapped up by their Ayrshire rivals to re-join his old U20s striking partner, Erwin, at Killie and be personally responsible for aneurisms of at least 3 posters on here.
  4. Aye, The Saint was a great player, but just a bit before my time. He played in the same Liverpool team as Bobby Graham (although was responsible for keeping him out of the starters most weeks), and was responsible for bringing him to Fir Park. So that's another reason to like him.
  5. That's the problem with trying to pick "best". Players benefit from the style, personnel and tactics of the team they played in. Higdon was at his most effective for us, and a terrific player. I'd probably end up choosing Bobby Graham/Willie Pettigrew as the best ever partnership in my time. Even though Tommy Coyne and Dougie Arnott were in a more successful team - but, then again, neither partnership won the Cup for us. The easiest one to choose is Joe Wark.
  6. I agree with what you say from a tactical perspective. However, against Rangers, we have tried that approach over the last, what, 20 years(?) and not won a single league game. It's the exception, I know, but if we had just gone toe to toe with them over the same period, I suspect we would have won maybe a couple. There needs to be a middle ground, and I'm grateful Robinson's press conference talked about simply trying to win the game rather than the endless years of "We need to be at our best and hope they are not" patter from a series of managers. It is going to be interesting with two teams lining up with many new players. Regardless of the result, I don't think either of us will know where we really stand for a couple of months yet.
  7. Isn't that just for domestic English transfers? Doesn't mention cross border.
  8. Robinson said in his pre-match presser this morning he thinks he needs one more defender and one more striker. We certainly don't want a repeat of last season when we were forced to play Cadden and McHugh back there.
  9. Plus we've had the "nothing to prove" patter about Bigi.
  10. The benchmark is what an English team were prepared to pay for a striker who wasn't as good as Moult. How the valuation was reached doesn't matter.
  11. Complete with Raven (and explains the "cat" ears - they're bananas)
  12. Moult's better than Erwin was when he sold him to Leeds, so that's a decent benchmark to work out a value.
  13. Or David Ferguson playing in the last Killie game at Fir Park.
  14. Bookmaker / Casino it looks like. Lots of video slots to keep the kids busy. They also have some "Virtual" games. which looks like you can bet on a video game being played. Difficult to tell though as my Turkish is a bit rusty. I have no issues with sports betting, or sports betting websites. Just would have preferred to see something on English on our launch day.
  15. I see we have a new back of shirt sponsor - Bet Park. I clicked the link to their website (from our official site) and was interested to see it was displayed in Turkish. Even when I switched to English, most of it was still displayed in Turkish. While I'm happy we have another revenue stream, the website makes it look a little sketchy.
  16. The Scottish transfer market is troubling. It's obviously good for us if we can get a development fee for guys like Erwin, but makes it very difficult to sign anyone from the Scottish lower leagues. Robinson said he wanted to give the team some local identity, but it hasn't worked out that way yet. Although there are a few players signed up for only a year, so maybe the plan is to develop some U20s to replace them. As always, time will tell.
  17. John Philiben, square posts, robbed. Although Gahagan should have got us the winner in extra time.
  18. Yabbas Turd posted it here.
  19. Compared to be being really good at estimating probability and risk (obviously). On the other hand, humans are really good at pattern recognition. In general, that has been an evolutionary advantage, but it's also one of the factors that leads to poor estimation of probabilities - they think patterns and clusters in independent events mean certain things are more likely to happen (as in Mitch's roulette example).
  20. Given the youth and pace of our new look line-up, will be interesting to see how they fare against a Premiership team. And maybe take it turns kicking Kenny Miller.
  21. I'm only pointing out (in a roundabout way) that 12 sequential home ties is well within the statistical norm for such a minuscule sample size. Humans are just really bad about estimating probability and risk.
  22. Best. Chance. Ever. © Every season since the 90s.
  23. I have literally no idea how good Rangers are right now. How we perform depends on how fit Moult is and how we line up in defence. Would not be surprised by a hard fought draw.
