  1. The question is, which established Scottish players are available for free right now?
  2. Oh, I agree it's all ifs and buts at this stage of his career, but if the stories were to be believed, the big boys in the EPL are closely monitoring his progress. But delighted he is continuing his development with us.
  3. I don't know him, but I think Villageman is right. Semple is one of our youngsters that some big clubs down south were sniffing around.
  4. I'm sure the Vatican Bank has good exchange rates too.
  5. I noticed Accies doing that too (and almost copying our warm up) and guessed it was an exercise from one of the Coaching Badge classes.
  6. TBH, I don't have a problem with trialists any more than I have a problem with job interviews. In fact, I think it's a better way to get an idea of how a player will fit into the squad than watching them play in a different team with a different system in a lower league. It's all about how we make use of the opportunity to assess them.
  7. Sent 20 quid via Paypal. Like a clueless computer n00b I wasn't paying attention to the updated Paypal website and missed the option to add a message. So I have PM'd you with my payment details (including the email address it will have been sent from). Thanks again for organizing.

Even if you wanted to take this seriously, the writers of a song are granted copyright automatically. The writers were not the club. Was a very entertaining post though, even if I'd expect a digital marketing guru to know something about copyright.
  9. One of the guys that Craigan would bang about "knowing what he had to do to step up" but seemed to never quite do it - and faded somewhat when he went out on loan. Seems like he has the talent to do well if he sticks at it.
  10. Sounds like a good deal for both parties.
  11. Loan spells worked well for Erwin and Cadden. Not so well for Moore and Mackin. Still think Thomas should have been sent out sooner, but suffered from being too close to the first team squad.
  12. The "athletes" with talent thing was something pioneered in the EPL by Wenger, apparently.
  13. How many chances should a youngster get?
  14. Steelmen Online Transfer Threads - where shit rumours come to die.
  15. The thing is, who is "the club" that should be doing it? The club is just people, and everybody has plenty of work to do. If all the SLO had to do was respond to queries, complaints and suggestions on just this site, it would be a full time job. Never mind looking after 4000 fans. The SLOs will be part of the club and take on that responsibility. It keeps fans engaged, and reduces the overhead on the other members of staff who have a business to run. Worth a try, in my view.
  16. As far as I know, Las has his badges and has been actively involved in the coaching side the last few seasons. Faddy did not have all his badges and wasn't, as far as I know, heavily involved on the coaching side. I think it's irrelevant, however, as Robinson seems to be a hands-on kinda manager and not reliant on an assistant to organize and run training. So whoever is 2nd in command will just be doing exactly what he tells them to do.

Well, that or the bear costumes were old and smelly and nobody wanted to wear them any more.
  18. Like I said in a different thread, for me, black has no place on a football kit and the away offering is pretty underwhelming. Looks like a generic training top with a badge slapped on it. I like black tops, just not as football shirts. However, I'm not the target demographic, so it doesn't matter.

Noel Fielding is doing Bake Off now. If he designed it, it would probably be a steak pie.
  20. The EPL is running with funds running in the billions and with a product that is watched in hundreds of countries across the globe. They create schedules with that audience in mind. It's a completely different world with completely different requirements in a completely different business model.
  21. Complaints not just about the quality of a guy whose identity we don't know combined with complaints about the nature of his contract and the way we announced it, are why I try and avoid this thread over the summer. When the club keep things quiet, people complain aboit lack of activity. When they communicate their intentions, it's still not good enough. We will likely still be doing business in August. Everybody relax and enjoy your holidays - then enjoy the new team, new pitch and new roof when you get back.
  22. The order in which players arriving are announced doesn't reflect our priority. It only reflects how quickly we were able to finalize contracts.
