  1. Since we started the great new pitch project, every summer the club has gone into great detail about the annual remediation work required to keep our new pitch up to snuff - including posting pictures and updates of the process. And every summer someone complains we are digging it up.
  2. This is the kind of reaction a troll lives for.
  3. Every time Skippy has turned down a move, for whatever reason, it's always a "sore one". Remember when we knocked back a bid from Rangers and he was moaning it was his "dream move"? Then went to Celtic shortly after. Moaning is in his DNA on and off the park.
  4. Aye, for a while he had a great partnership with Erwin in the U20s, but another case of not quite managing the step up to the first team. Good luck to the guy.
  5. Imagine if we had summer football. Pre-season would be the middle of winter and we wouldn't be able to perform the annual pitch remediation required until Jan or Feb (when the grass doesn't grow).

Assists are one of those American imports they use to make their native sports more interesting and their fantasy sports leagues more profitable. Like all statistics, it has some use in some circumstances, but doesn't come close to giving a complete picture.
  7. Dylan Mackin is (or was) 29. Given the second letter looks like a "y" and the second digit might be a 9, that would be my guess for now.
  8. You could be right. That might be a "g" rather than a "y" in there.
  9. Only names I can think of containing a "y" like that are Dylan Falconer, Dylan Mackin or Ryan Watters. Mackin looks the closest, but it doesn't look much like any of those.
  10. Not really, though.
  11. McFadden falls into that category too, then, presumably?
  12. Depends on whether his wife will let him move to to Australia this time, I imagine. I'm sure Hibs would be delighted to have him, though. Water under the bridge.
  13. Not until the end of the month when his contract expires.
  14. Got him on the cheap Had a great few seasons. Sold him on for a tidy sum. Got him on the cheap again. One of our best pieces of business ever. A guy who always gives 100% and a decent amount of talent to match. Sorry to seem him go, but seems like the perfect time for him to move on.

I think it's quite possible he was in our top salary range, but that's different from asserting it as a fact. Doesn't make any difference now, though. It also reminds me of one of my favourite Far Side cartoons, so that's a bonus.
  16. So back on topic, the list of former players has officialy been extended to the following:

The whole "highest earner" thing is another one of those "say it often enough and it becomes true" things people love to repeat with nothing to back it up except that other people have already said it. Whether it's true or not, I'm sure you're right that a major restructure is in order. One which might still see him leave anyway.

Official website says we are discussing a new contract with him.

I still think Robinson was bang on. Expecting professionalism from professionals (including experienced pros) during a game is not a big ask. After the final whistle there is plenty of time for sentiment/celebration/fan appreciation/pennance.
  20. I have. He fitted in perfectly with the ability levels of most of our squad this season.

    Moult.

We don't pay high wages, and sell players on when they have a year or less on their contracts. That deflates their value. We have done well with guys like Marvin and Erwin (and to a lesser extent, Hall) and need to continue in that mould of developing the youngsters and finding "cheap" lower league talent. Not everyone will be a gem, but it only takes one 500k deal to make it worthwhile. The alternative is to do a Dundee Utd and tie down everyone on higher wages and 5 or 6 yr contracts, selling the occasional 1 million+ player. And we can see how that worked out. As for Moult, we should try something creative with add-ons like 300k up front then 20k per goal for his next 3 seasons plus 25% of future transfers.
  22. The level of a struggling Premiership team with a dodgy defence, weak and uncreative midfield and a strikeforce that scored 1 goal or less in 25 league games?
  23. Agreed. Not that I'm a mod, but I've had this discussion with Yabba in the past too. Unless something has crossed the line from a legal perspective, I think it's better for other members to call out posters as and when appropriate.

When was the last time you think we bent over?
  25. Only if ICT have had about 10 years previous of warnings + at least one play-off incident with Rangers with.
