Regarding McFadden, I remember during one of his interviews soon after his appointment, Robinson said that he would remain as assistant until the end of the season. Which made me think the plan was for him to bring in his own man after that.

Most teams need to score 2 goals to get a result. We have failed to score 2 in far too many games this season - in fact in something like 23 of our league games this season we have scored 1 or less. Not the way you win games in our league.

He's probably not. But they aren't going to appoint the best one to our game every week. So we need a deeper pool of talent and, going back to my original point, I don't see anyone in power working to create that pool (including, like you say, accountability).

At least he was good enough to have faded away. Most of our first team started off faded and got worse from there.

I don't disagree, but this crop is supposedly the best we've got. The challenge is how do we make them better? It should be possible, but like most of the flaws in our game, the authorities rarely have the appetite for long term changes.

The teams that finished "best of the rest" were built during an era where we wouldn't even pay transfer fees, so I'm not convinced it's major investment that will fix things. We rode our luck in that era too in with respect to injuries and suspensions, and along with poor form, that his hurt us again this season. It's a black art siging players that are going to gel and get the best from each other. Even the big EPL teams struggle with that. I think I heard that financially we could maintain the same budget for one year if we were relegated, but let's hope we don't test that theory.

I've always felt that if we are taking players on loan, keeper is the prime position to fill with a loanee. I think because they are least likely to be sold on for a profit. As always, however, it boils down to how many positions we need to fill, what our budget is, and who's available.

Aye, it's a pity we ran out of time to sign him during the summer window. I know one player doesn't make a team, but as a straight swap for Marv, I think he'd have made a positive difference to our season.

I was wondering that myself. Or if we only receive percentages of transfer fees. Or if our add-ons have expired. I'm sure someone from the club could fill us in.
