  1. We've reached the stage of the season where the stats are irrelevant. The only thing that matters is picking up points in our next few games. Then the recriminations can begin.
  2. Great to watch, but as the youngsters who have been out on loan have testified on various occasions, a million miles away from a competitive game in front of paying fans expecting a win. Delighted the 'farm' is in good shape, though.
  3. 2 goals minimum please. As delighted as I'd be with a 1 - 0, still don't think we have that in us.
  4. Even if they set the fire, it doesn't make sense to harangue them until after they put it out.
  5. We've been pathetic at scoring all season. People jump our defensive errors most weeks, but our goal tally has been abysmal. And for all his energy, Skippy has been just as culpable at missing chances as the others. If we end up relegated or in the play-offs, the strikers have to shoulder the blame as much as the defenders. We have conceded one goal in the last 2 games and managed to pick up only one point.
  6. Congrats to the winners. And thanks to Brazilian for his annual effort to organize this. Always much appreciated.
  7. I don't have any issues with the society moving funds to the club - that was the idea behind the Society and, now we own the club too, it doesn't sound like a bad idea. I'd just like to be able to sit down with someone in charge for an hour or two and understand exactly how the financing works, what we can do, what we can't do, what's a loan, what's a "donation" etc. because after all these years and the odd paragraph or two in Society missives (and not being able to attend meetings) I still don't know how we operate. I get it that a lot of people don't really care about that level of detail, it would just be nice to have it available for people that are interested in it.
  8. Decisions don't even themselves up over a season or even over the entire history of a club. That's not how statistics work in football - it's not like tossing a coin. The bottom line is that for the majority of this season we have been shipping goals at one end of the park and failing to capitalize on our chances up the other end. We managed to keep a clean sheet in the Accies game - which was a pleasant surprise. We need to keep that up and have our strikers knock in more than 1 in a game.
  9. None of those pictures take into account the perspective of the camera. The only way to tell for sure is if there was a camera on the goal line. Regardless. It wasn't a goal. I can tell because the final score said we had nil.
  10. For me, Ainsworth should be an easy player to manage. Stick him wide right and keep passing him the ball and tell him shoot more often. Just let him do what he does best. I agree his head has already decided he's off in the summer.
  11. I only watched the interview once, but on first viewing I thought it was the opposite i.e. he brought on Ainsworth to add some pace and width to the attack, but we started playing it long instead - which negated the plan.
  12. Didn't vote (as usual), but good to hear Frear is hitting his stride.
  13. In recent times, this fixture has favoured the home team. Hard fought draw.
  14. The one (and only) positive is that it's another game less to play and we are still above the play-off spot. Been saying it since September, though - even with Moult and McDonald we have not been scoring enough goals. It's easy to pick holes in the defence, but we need some support from our strikers too.

    Rangers Motm

    1) Force of habit 2) The greyed out colours on the Show Results button make it look like its inactive
  16. The Rangers semi, for some reason, doesn't bother me as much. Probably because it was pretty standard shenanigans for those days. The Texaco Cup defeat was worse. Neither as bad for me as the Airdrie semi, though. That was the first time as a wean that I really felt the buzz of expectation and the misery of defeat.
  17. I still haven't recovered from losing to Airdrie in the Scottish Cup Semi-Final replay. In general, though, with the time differences involved, if we lose on a Saturday I'm over it by the time I have my lunch.
  18. As much as we like to talk about goal difference, I can't remember us ever having to rely on that. It's all about the points right now, and that is 100% up to us. We do need to score more than one, though, as we never win 1 - 0.
  19. A comfortable 3 - 0 win as we pass them off the park and wonder why everybody was stressing out.
  20. Agree with this. The positive is we still have our fate in our hands. Let's keep it that way.
  21. Moult went off injured on Saturday, so it's no big secret. If he was injured training during the week I can see how it makes sense to keep it quiet, but in this case - as Andy_P says - it just means Accies have to prepare for 2 different scenarios.
  22. If any of our central defenders are expecting Samson to come out for it, they obviously haven't been watching any of our previous games. So instead, they'll need to compete with the guy they are supposed to be marking and maybe clear it themselves.
  23. He rolled up on 14th Feb 2015, after which we won 7, drew 3 and lost 6 of our last 16 (including the play-offs). Not brilliant, but not bad - and we'd only won 4 league games since August before he joined us.
  24. Robinson's post match was also good to hear. Set up with a positive approach because what we'd done for the last 20 games "obviously wasn't working" and thought that this "was a game we could win". No coincidence he was involved in the play-off win. Early days, I know, but I'm already a big fan of his approach. He must have been reading the posts on here.
