  1. Aye, that was fun too. I was only interested in seeing us score 1 goal, as that meant we beat the record number scored in the First Division. Once we got that I wasn't too bothered. Wasn't it also the case that if Hearts drew, Killie needed to win by 5 or 6 to pip them to 2nd place on goal difference? And Killie were 5 or 6 up by half time.
  2. I don't want to see us relegated, but I really enjoyed those 3 seasons in the lower league. Got to most of the home and away games, stood on the terraces at some old grounds no longer with us, and had the Accies rivalry at school. Staying up is vital for us this year, though.
  3. People are a lot more forgiving of a striker missing a good chance than they are about a defender giving away a goal, despite the fact they have equal influence on the game.
  4. If we ever need a complete clear out I hope we engage Jim Gannon on a short term contract to recruit some new players.
  5. Last time we were hovering around the same situation the club said they had the resources to keep the same budget for one season in the Championship. An equally significant concern is the extra cash available next year, so we really don't want to miss out on that.
  6. Against Dundee, (and only against Dundee), absolutely unlucky with the timing of that specific injury situation that was always going to make things difficult in a game where we were trying to rebuild some confidence. And like I have said before in other threads - as bad as our defensive record is, our scoring record is equally poor. Perhaps moreso, given the quality of the strikers.
  7. Oh, I knew you were joking. It's just a sad fact of life nowadays that it's nearly impossible to joke about something that hasn't actually happened. It's like Black Mirror has turned into a documentary.
  8. We certainly are poor, but our best form should be good enough to keep us up. I actually think Mcghee was a bit unlucky with the defensive situation at the weekend, but that's all in the past. As with all struggling teams, we need to get some confidence back. Lack of confidence leads to hesitation in decision making, poor communication and players taking an extra pass. The new gaffer needs to be able to shore up the defence and put a wee bit of arrogance back into players like Skippy and Moult.
  9. And yet West Ham's rising starlet wasn't good enough for our U20s, Joey (I'll be the best player in the league) Barton wasn't even the best player in a poor Rangers team and every English player we sign takes about a month to raise their fitness to the necessary standard. I'm not deluding myself about our game's current issues but we aren't as bad as some make us out to be.
  10. Doesn't surprise me. When he was caretaker the last time he was pretty candid about not wanting to be the boss. He obviously enjoys his U20 gig and, with a nice cushy number on the telly, he'd be mad to take on the hot seat.
  11. There's an Indoor (American) Football League over here. This season, the fans of the Salt Lake Screaming Eagles voted for the team name, the coach and now can vote in real-time for every play they make via an app on their phone.
  12. If we beat the teams around us before the split, and after the split if necessary, ICT can do what they like.
  13. You've jinxed us now. We'll be 3 up with 90 seconds to go and end up hanging on for a 3 - 3.
  14. I literally had no idea what those guys stats were, but amazingly Jordan's win rate is 42.67% in 450 games and Coyle's is 39.32% over 440 games. I'd be amazed to see Jordan manage any other team in his career though. He seems quite content in the work he does now.
  15. "McGhee Must Go. Retweet if you agree!" kinda thing?
  16. Right, but it's the keeping ball close to feet on the plastic that seems to often be a problem as it gets held up and stuck slightly behind.
  17. Is Robinson part of McGhee's team, or was McGhee told Robinson was being brought in?
  18. I think you're right. And we'd end up with the whole MyFootballClub experiment. We need to think of it more like being shareholders in a company. Let the Board go about their business and if there are major issues where we disagree, and there is sufficient support among the members, then we can get it changed.
  19. The ball seems to get held up a bit on even the best plastic pitches, so having players try and run with it doesn't always work. It's another reason I'm not a big fan of them.
  20. In a situation like this, I wouldn't expect an email saying McGhee Out - Click Yes or No. For now, at least, I'm satisfied that our Board is working in the best interests of the club and with appropriate communication with the Society Board. If that's ever not the case, I presume the Society Board members will let it be known and we can consider our options.
  21. I googled his twitter feed (I know, I know). According to that, he came back on Sunday night "After United lift the Cup"
  22. Why is Willie Ormond listed on there?
