  1. I'm expecting Frear to make an appearance tonight. No problem if Ainsworth starts, but only if they play him wide right.
  2. The irrational hate/love fans have for players is a thing of beauty.
  3. Sounds like we were unlucky not to grab a point in the second half. More encouragingly, Frear sounded like he had a good game.
  4. I'd be pleasantly surprised if we manage to raise 500k in 2017, but it's a great gesture from Les and another incentive to throw a few more quid to the Society. I have also been a critic of the many of the Society's operations in the past, but believed it was the best way forward for the club if it could get its act together. I think Les' influence has been very positive on that and the recent changes have left me more optimistic about its chances of success.

    Mcghee Out?

I think the foundations McGhee (and Craigan and Leitch) in developing the youngsters are going to pay dividends in the next season or two. I have no problem if it's McGhee himself that gets the benefit.
  6. If he gets a consistent run in the first team I think you're right.

    Mcghee Out?

Not a junior team, but if memory serves me right, Ian MacLeod joined the club from Claremont. And despite only every playing part time made over 250 appearances.

    Mcghee Out?

Not just professional, but some are so well bankrolled that they have bigger budgets than us.

    Mcghee Out?

And, it seems from 'Flow's recent comments we will be offering him improved salary and/or an extension.
  10. Aye, there's been a few youtube videos that appeared on Twitter that aren't visible on the Official Youtube Channel. Don't think it's a conspiracy. See the u20s lost earlier. I know it serves a purpose when senior players take a starting berth, but we seem to be more consistent when it's just the youngsters that play.
  11. I meant Derek Rae on the BT Sport commentary not "awwwwwww refereeeeeeeeeeee!" on mixlr.
  12. Guys on the commentary on Saturday reckoned he'd triggered a suspension with his booking.
  13. Given Brendan Roger's complaints about Celtic's pitch, they might want to try keeping player's off their's too.
  14. Was interesting to hear McGhee say in his post match that the 10 day break would allow Blyth to get in another couple of games. Wonder if that meant he is looking to start him in the next match or if it was just McGhee being McGhee.
  15. And he had a perfect view. Even Craggs could see it from the other side of the pitch.
  16. I also take no satisfaction in pointing out I was 100% correct about Ainsworth not being the answer in the position he was played today. I like him, but the one thing he does well is play wide right and attack the left back. Watching the game on telly today I don't think his name was even mentioned in the first half.
  17. They do say that, but from a purely statistical basis it's not even close to true. Partly because there is a human element, but even if there wasn't, statistical probabilities converge as you reach infinity - not half a football season. Now I need to get back to washing my anorak. The dandruff leaves a terrible mess in the hood.
  18. Looking forward to seeing what Frear can offer, but imagine this will not be the game for him. Would like to see Hastie as an option on the bench.
  19. You don't think Craigan is doing a good job developing our U20s? The football they are playing doesn't look very "dark age" to me. Regardless, it's obvious Craigan has a personal beef with Cathro based on direct experience from the UEFA coaching programme they were on. It may be legit, it may not - but at least it's based on first hand experience. I have no issues with Cathro one way or the other. Time will tell if he's any good as a manager. Saving our game, however, will not happen until the entire SFA/SPFL is ripped down and rebuilt. And that will never happen.
  20. Or to put it another way - One up can only work if someone is playing for a team that's not Motherwell. I'm sure we must have had success with it over the years, but I'm struggling to think of a specific example.
  21. I think the SFA may have something to say about that front two.
  22. We need to play two strikers. I'd rather have Blyth, Bowman or even Hastie partner Moult than watch us punt high balls up to an isolated lone front man.
  23. I think Craggs had personal issues with him at the UEFA coaching course at Largs. He had a dig at him about never attending classes. Regardless, he could have a stroke and still make more sense than Chris Sutton.
