    Mascots

Do we dump bears in the woods?
  2. Even the worst marketing department in the world wouldn't use an NYPD Police Car to welcome an Australian who once played in Seattle (3,000 miles away from NYC) and most recently played in Coventry (3,500 miles away from NYC)
  3. Were they not in the Magic Roundabout?

    New Pitch

Well you don't sound like the Tannoy announcer, because I made out every word.
  5. 1 year to give him time to bloom, else he's on gardening leave, bud.

From what 'Flo was saying regarding "creative ways" to fund a new scoreboard, I'm hoping any refurbishment is covered by a sponsor. Given the ubiquity of smartphones at games, I agree it wouldn't be great value - unless it was one of those that showed action replays etc.

Hope they don't get any paint on the stairs.

We're re-laying the old turf on the roof and Community Trust will rent it out for "Extreme Five Aside".

I think you just won this thread.
  11. I don't now the exact figures, but there is certainly a decent bump in cash next season. Which is why it was even more crucial than normal to stay in the top flight.
  12. My old man thinks Mrs Brown's Boys is funny Seriously, though, my preference for wingers and full backs is to be naturally footed for the side the play on, but I'm sure there are plenty of exceptions.
  13. They release those strips for the youngsters that weren't lucky enough to be at Hampden that day.
  14. If we kept winning it, that last one wouldn't be as special.
  15. I think it depends if we are talking about goals or hopes. As I mentioned earlier, my goal is to avoid relegation etc. My hope is we push for the top 6 and get a decent cup run.
  16. Don't get relegated. Stay solvent. Win a few games. Beat Accies.
  17. Aye, priorities in signing won't coincide with the timings of announced signings, but he seems to know exactly who he wants. As pointed out, however, as nice as it is to do business early, other business is dependent on offloading players, loan deals, the transfer window and people bidding for our guys. So the last pieces of business might not happen until July or August.
  18. I think it was just one step too far removed from our regular style. Fine if you are Blackburn Rovers - not quite as fine for ourselves. I quite liked the Patrick one, mind you.
  19. Only if the shirt was also different.
  20. If Thomas returns from his loan as good as Cadden and Erwin did from their's I'd be happy to see him stick around.
  21. Wonder if they will also be the sponsor of the new scoreboard.
  22. The level of caring ranges from folk like you (and me) who won't be buying one and don't really mind, to the likes of underboyleheating who will have a mild stroke if one stitch on the badge is 0.5 microns off centre
  23. Beat me to it. Especially when we have so many signings to make, and depending on what players will accept, it's all about risk/reward. 2 year contracts give us a chance to assess players and offer extensions after 6 -12 months. For a club with our finances it's arguably better to lose 2 good players for free at the end of 2 years than have 2 bad players on our books for 3 years. Tying up our younger prospects on longer deals is more important.
  24. Teams like Liverpool in the 70s and 80s thrived by making most of their appointments in-house. However, if guys like Las want to keep playing regularly for their last year or two they might need to move on. I'd like to see Big Mick stick around too, but would not be surprised if he ends up with a role at Celtic. As for Robinson, he seems very much his own man, and will choose an assistant that supports his philosophy over any other considerations.
  25. Aye, he's one of those players whose on-field attitude is almost a polar opposite of his off-field persona. No questioning his commitment to his employers, though. Spot on with his comments about his Celtic team mates that should have taken a good look at themselves for blowing the title, too. I did hear from a reliable source (I know, I know - but I trust this one) that his wife didn't fancy moving to Australia in January. Be interesting to see if that's where he ends up.
