  1. Moult played the full 90 against Ipswich last week. Unfortunately for him the entire team was mince and combined to create about one chance. I think he started the game before that too.
  2. Not sure if it helped us, but I think overall we are fitter. That showed towards the end of the game. After we weathered the storm in the second half we were still able to take the game to them. Same as the last game at Tynecastle.
  3. Probably seemed like a great idea after a couple of pot brownies.
  4. As far as the ref goes, let's just be happy he didn't give Hearts the pen at the death. It was never a pen, of course, but we've all seen those given.
  5. Not quite the same situation(!), but I was asked to ref a BB game for our juniors once, and even at that level you feel the need to not be seen to be a "homer". So I can imagine there is a lot more pressure to appear neutral at the professional level.
  6. The only thing that gets our fans more riled up that not being able to sit in a different seat from their ticket number is when other fans don't go a game that they did. We won. Settle down. If you were there, well done. Enjoy the victory instead of wasting your energy slagging off other fans that support the same team as you.
  7. Not given the circumstances for anyone traveling from outside Lanarkshire. I'm sure a lot of them didn't even bother making plans to head out after the weather chaos earlier in the week. And even yesterday, there were notices about no trains running on Sunday.
  8. Sadly, the only way for the refereeing standards to improve is for people who really care about it to get involved in the system. If the "best" we have don't improve, there's nobody to replace them. It's not like a football team where we can sell them on and bring in better options.
  9. Need to see it again, but on first showing I thought it had crossed the line just before Main touched
  10. I expect the TV option made it an easier decision for folks whose travel was a bit dodgy. Yesterday the papers were full of "most trains cancelled" type warnings. Glad we managed to get the game on at all. Kudos to everyone with a shovel the past couple of days.
  11. That's his contribution for missing out on the semi. Cheers, mate.
  12. Also, as was pointed out - not a single Hearts player was complaining about the goal.
  13. As Billy Dodd's said, it wasn't under control. Keeper had lost it and Cadden was kicking it when he stuck out his hand in desperation. Good start though. Just need a wee bit more composure in the final third.
  14. That's what I'll be doing. I expect there will be a working stream on cricfree.sc too.
  15. It was certainly a bit of a rustic stadium, but the sort of ground that is fun to visit and we've lost from the the game.
  16. Great article in The Scotsman today about Peter Marinello. I was at that Cowdenbeath cup game (along with half of Lanarkshire it seemed) and remember that goal. A classic 70s tale of wasted talent. Still one of my favourite 'Well players, though. The strike force of Marinello, Graham, Pettigrew is unmatched in my lifetime.
  17. Looking at the traffic cams on the M8, the road seems pretty clear. Likewise, the camera at the M74 Hamilton Services looks good too.
  18. Remember that Inverness v Falkirk cup game in the 70s that was postponed 29 times? *That* was bad weather.
  19. Moult, if we'd been allowed to vote for him. Carson and Kipre seems like a good shout, although Tait has been very solid too. Overall, though, I won't vote as I don't see the team play every week.
  20. It's a bit of a stretch to compare Jim's team with Tommy's early team. We were parking the bus, had little creativity, struggling down the bottom of the league and avoided relegation due to league reconstruction. Dundee Utd. played a very effective form of counter attacking football that relied on the likes of Bannon and Milne with their speed. Tactics that saw them winning a host of European ties against top flight opposition. They were easily one of the top teams in the UK at the time, and a UEFA cup final and run to the European Cup semis (with a narrow defeat) showed they were a force in Europe too.
