  1. Still surprised Hearts ditched their last gaffer. Hoping that decision continues to haunt them after this game. Our record against Hearts at Fir Park has been solid the past few seasons so reasons to be optimistic for this one.
  2. I can offer 20 quid and an electric gate opener.

    Mcghee Out?

Aye, we have Trump in the White House and Trumpets in the East Stand.
  4. 8 game ban, 2 suspended, for biting someone in the Dundee derby. Utd claimed he showed restraint under severe provocation.
  5. And a big "roon ye" to everyone predicting a 4 game losing streak starting tonight.
  6. The Rangers move was his agent being at it. All the patter about it being a dream move etc. But as others have said, after his deal was made nobody could doubt his commitment to our cause for the remainder of his contract. Total professional that others could learn from.
  7. Sell Skippy. Sign Ciftci. Get Hastie up to speed from the U20s. Frear pinging in crosses to the tunnel of uncertainty. Profit. This management lark's a doddle.
  8. At the last Well Society meeting we were told we don't need to sell anyone else this season and if we did get a large bid in for one of players (an offer we couldn't refuse kinda thing) it we be put to the Society members for discussion. I doubt the Skippy deal would fall into that category, but if any bid for 750k came in for Moult (from Rangers or anyone else) I'd expect that to be put the the members. That effectively rules out any last minute deals of that kind.
  9. Who knows? We might have used the money we got for him to bring an excellent replacement. Much in the way we replaced Sutton's goals and Higdon's goals etc. Glad he's here, though!
  10. No way we should accept any bid from Rangers. I have said it before, and I'll say it again. Unless that mob pay in cash up front and we have it in the bank, they are far too much of a credit risk to be doing any significant business with. They have a track record of screwing their creditors are are still run by crooks.
  11. Maybe if our strikers stopped missing we'd notice it less.
  12. The linked article says he's "free to leave" - but a little unclear if that means he can be loaned or actually signed longer term. EDIT: Just re-read it, and it also says "until the end of the season". I'd still take him, though.
  13. I presume his wages have dropped. Didn't McCall say Dundee Utd offered him more than twice we could afford?
  14. If I knew Skippy was leaving at the end of the season and we were signing Ciftci for 2 or 3 years, I'd take that punt.
  15. Some do, some don't. The average salary in the MLS is less than what we offer. However, I'd assume in this case you are right and he'd be taking one of the higher salary spots. The "grunts" in that league make about $50k a season. Of course, he might get turned away at the airport for being too ginger.
  16. So that ship has sailed... I hope he's going for the money, because the 11th best team in the US 2nd division isn't the highest of standards.
  17. Not that I'm a Chalmers fan boy or anything, but the guy's a defender/defensive midfielder. Expecting him to produce a left wing performance is like asking Lionel to play centre half.
  18. McFadden said yesterday we had already made Pearson an offer, but he had other things to consider too. If I was in his position I'd be considering all my options too. Especially as he can wait until after the window closes to make up his mind.
  19. Aye, Faddy mentioned this in his press conference yesterday. Said we had a couple of offers out there but no response. One of them is Pearson, who has a few options to consider, but as he is a free agent he can be signed after the deadline.
  20. Local derby played like a local derby. I suspect there was an added edge with 'Flow and others taking a pop at the Elite Eight's self-interest too. Accies, not surprisingly, looked a a decent side, but credit to our boys for keeping at it and playing themselves to a win. Even against 10 men a 3 goal deficit is not easy to overcome. Seeing the quality of the two penalties I have no idea why Hastie didn't take the first!
  21. If they aren't seeing the flaws, then that's not playing favourites. However, I think many (if not, most) fans don't see the game the way most managers do for various reasons. "Playing favourites" just normally means the gaffer is using a player that fans have taken a dislike to.
  22. What does "playing favourites" mean? That he picks the players he thinks have the best chance of winning a game? Or are you seriously saying he'll pick teams he think will lose so his mates get a game?
  23. I posted this back in March in a different thread, but if anyone is in any doubt what our standing in the SP(F)L is since its inception and how we measure up, here it is again. We have been relegated twice. Been in the relegation spot twice, but saved due to reconstruction and the all-seater stadium rule. Finished one place above relegation 4 times and avoided relegation by winning a play-off once.
