  1. And in 4th place too - until Aberdeen's imminent 4 goal victory.
  2. Against other teams I'd be disappointed, but going a goal down against this mob on their home turf, it's not a bad point.
  3. By betting when they are banned from betting, and they know they are banned from betting, footballers are already showing they aren't the smartest bunch. The reason for blanket bans it that it's just a lot easier to police than reviewing every players account for rule breaches. And in age where you can lay odds for first throw-in, first free kick, first booking etc. it's better just to keep things simple. In many businesses there are rules not just to prevent impropriety, but also the appearance of impropriety. If they really feel the need to degen their wages away every week there's a bazillion things to bet on that are allowed.
  4. Was Lawless not banned for that last year? Or is he up to his old tricks again?
  5. It was more than 12. Unless the players flew there or their own with nobody else from the club.
  6. I remember people saying Grimshaw was slow and useless when he arrived on a 6 month loan. If getting a Premier League youngster on a short term deal where the lending club pays most of the wages is the worst signing McGhee makes this year, he'll have done OK.
  7. Yes. Everybody who took a wee holiday to the seaside to wach some football deserves annual recognition. Makes those Syrian refugees travel efforts look amateur by comparison.
  8. I vote we put a 50 year gagging order on it.
  9. It seems like it was Cadden and Hall that got the individual specialist attention last season. I'd hope Thomas was on it this season, but I haven't heard any mention of it.
  10. I don't disagree. The strength for the middle of the park, though, is something we could easily develop with our sports scientist. Cadden came on leaps and bounds when he was put on his programme.
  11. Was a bit surprised he didn't go out on loan last season as, early on, McGhee mentioned his name as the kind of player who would benefit from that. I think he has suffered from being close enough to the the first team to keep him around, but not quite ready for the step up.
  12. Aye, we have parked in the street since the 70s. Even for games with 20k crowds there was always space. Never been a problem and, like you say, only 5 mins or less away.
  13. If all this concern is about young fans, maybe we need to cut out the paedo songs.
  14. Thistle seem to have been our bogey team for as long as I have been watching Motherwell. Just in case it wasn't as bad as I thought, I checked out our head-to-head on Statto.com - and it's actually a little worse than I thought. That'll learn me. 73 Thistle league wins compared to our 64, with 47 draws. We have won at Firhill 21 times out of 91 in the league. I think we can make this 22, but it will be tough.
  15. His drought at Burnley was pretty severe. Didn't manage a single goal for them.
  16. Who was it standing behind him (I didn't really pay attention when I was watching the highlights)? He looked off and, I guess, could have been flagged as the ball was hit.
  17. Was watching the game on Alba and the commentary was almost drowned out by the Tannoy. On the plus side, I know the numbers for the draw.
  18. You sound like one of those Remain people that voted to Leave...
  19. Scoring more than one goal has always been my preferred tactical approach.
  20. Going way off topic with the Ins & Outs, but the club has to be self-sustaining. It doesn't matter if it's the Well Society or Fred Moneybags that owns it. If you think fan ownership is unsustainable, who's left sustain it? You can give away all the tickets you like, but there needs to be a team to watch. One thing seems pretty sure. If the Society hadn't been around to lend money to the club in the past few seasons we could all have been going to Fir Park for our weekly groceries.
  21. Growing up in Hamilton, the Accies derby was always more important. Play a team 3 or 4 times a season, however, and it stops becoming such a big deal. As for Airdrie, I'm amazed at how people easily accept them as the real deal after they were liquidated and came back only via the Clydebank / Airdrie Utd route. That's the kind of thinking that let NewRangers convince the media they are OldRangers.
  22. Campbell will be used when he's ready. According to Craigan the players in the U20s aren't as ready to step up as some fans think they are, and I trust his judgement. I'd expect Campbell to be getting games this year too, but we're not exactly swamped with midfielders right now.
