In general, at least for a team like ourselves, good players aren't available in January - unless it's on a pre-contract for the following season.. That's why I never have high expectations at this time of year.

And that's why I have just a tiny bit of sympathy with the refs - only a tiny bit though. The behaviour of some players with their diving and moaning and general cheating makes it more difficult than it should be for the refs. And that starts with the managers. Still a ridiculous decision, though.

The problem was everybody jumping on the bandwagon giving him too much credit for that run. I said at the time there was a lot more to it than bringing him in on loan. There were many factors in play, not least of which was Faddy hitting a bit of form at that time. He's not a terrible keeper, but I think some people's blind hatred of our other 2 keepers at the time elevated him (in their eyes) to some sort of Randolph-esque status.
