Over the years, the club has given away tickets to local youth organizations, reduced ticket prices for many games, offered the 10 game season tickets, offered bring a friend for free, offered counltess activities for kids. They have supported the Well Bois efforts, they have conducted open meetings to solicit suggestions for improvement, they have kicked off the Well Society. In recent times, the new owner has restructured the Board, implemented a new scouting system, hired a sports scientist to work with the players, and for the first time in a ling time, approved transfer fees for players we hope to be able to develop and sell on. And that's off the top of my head in 30 seconds. I'm sure there's more. I've answered your quesiton, how about you answer mine. What would you like the club to try that they haven't yet tried?

Well one recent attempt to improve the SPL (where have you seen no attempts) is that we no longer have an SPL. We have the SPFL with a different financial distribution model and play-offs every season.

Going back to the "matchday experience", like others I'm not exactly sure what that is. However, one thing that I haven't enjoyed over the years is the all seated stadia; particularly in the winter. I always found it better standing on the terrace when it was cold, as you could move about a bit more to keep warm. Having your knees up at your chin isn't much fun either.

I think we'll win, but I don't remember setting the Cups on fire under McGhee's last stint.

I see that happening with telly, and all the talentless people who become famous for being racist on 'reality' TV, but choose not to watch any of that. It's probably easier over here to avoid the endless stream of football gossip etc. about football, but I don't see as much of that aspect here. Of course, getting older contributes to those jaded feelings too.

Definitely not in the short term, but it wouldn't surprise me to see either or both feature more next season - especially if McGhee still fancies developing Laing as a midfielder. I think there is also a good chance Moult could be sold on in the summer or the next January window opening up a slot for another striker.

Sounds good. When you see how Grimshaw has developed by playing some competitive games, hopefully these guys will see the same improvement.

That was certainly an unexpected bonus, but I still expect to see one of our decent in-contract players be sold this season. Guys like Johnson, Moult, Fletcher and Laing are part of our "develop and move on" strategy I'm sure. The key will be to continue finding more guys like that we can develop.

Aye, it's funny to hear about a 30 million transfer budget in one breath and watch them bring in players from League One in another. They are obviously trying to slash their wage bill, and guys like Law must be part of the problem. The only disappointing part is, after years of spewing around needless cash, this new strategy is probably the right one.

As per our business plan, we should be looking to sell one player on this season. Not saying that is Ainsworth, but someone of that profile makes sense i.e. something to offer and with decent period left on his contract.

TBF, in the last few games before Accies, we had done quite well at closing out a game. We just blew it on this occasion, but as you say - hopefully lessons learned.

During the summer Baraclough said the club was already pinpointing targets for the next couple of windows. So it seems like we are planning ahead. Targeting and acquiring are 2 different things, of course.
