  1. The "unnatural" position of arms, should really be to prevent situations like a defender standing with arms outstretched in front of a free kick. Anything else is too subjective, and should revert to the "deliberate" rule.
  2. 2 and 3 both seem like deliberate to me.
  3. Law's much more of a creative player than Pearson. His biggest issue is that he, not surprisingly, regressed after a few years in the lower divisions. I'd still take a chance on having him back though - we never managed to replace him after he left. Can't see it happening, though. If he is available, there will be bigger clubs than us wanting him.
  4. If the ball hit Lasley's arm, there is no 'technically' about it. It's not a pen. It has to be deliberate.
  5. The club needs to sell players to pay back the loan to Les. It makes more sense to sell someone who will command a decent fee than offload another on a free. Like I said in an earlier post, it's something we'll need to become accustomed (or reaccustomed) to over the next few seasons.
  6. Exactly. Especially at this stage of the season where the game just falls into a regular weekend slot. Treat it like an SPFL game, put out the best team available and win.
  7. You're certainly welcome in any of my poker games. "He was dealt 2 aces the last hand, the odds he as 2 aces this hand are ASTRONOMICAL!"
  8. Financially, we do need to trim the budget. If we do stick to our model, we'll need to get used to seeing one or two good players being moved on every season. As long as our scouting system can continue to find players like Moult, it might not be a bad thing having fresh talent come in on a regular basis.
  9. How will you cope when we offload Moult in the summer?
  10. Would have settled for 4 points from last 2 games, but being greedy, would have preferred to draw against St. Johnstone and beat Accies.
  11. I grew up and Hamilton and haves lot of Accies supporting mates. Apart from last season, we always finished in a higher league position (or higher league!) than them. The derby matches were always their way of getting bragging rights regardless of the final league stats. The slaggings would last for weeks afterwards, so always happy to beat them any way we can. In the grand scheme of things, however, we have never really been significant rivals, which is why I think our players and fans have more emotions invested in beating a team like Hearts.
  12. An entertaining player to watch. Mostly because when he started running with the ball, he had no idea where he was going, so it was as exciting for him as it was or us!
  13. I think 'Flow must have got him as hospitalitied as a newt before kick off.
  14. Aye, watching the highlights and the pitch looked in great shape. Much better than the Celtic on we played on last week.
  15. As long as it gives fans time to travel, I'm always in favour of leaving the pitch inspections like this as late as possible. Nothing more frustrating than an early call off followed by good conditions at kick-off time.
  16. Also not bad advice for playing against Skippy.
  17. Was disappointed he left, but delighted that Moult replaced him. Hoping Fletcher will be challenging Louis soon and we can sell both of them on for a profit. Then it's Mackin's chance.
  18. Even if they improve, they won't be as good as the Celtic team we just beat. Plus, the way things go in this league we could easily have dropped points anyway - especially if we were playing on waterlogged pitch in the wind.
  19. We weren't in the same boat. Our pitch had no grass, and we couldn't even roll the sand flat. We had far too many postponements and even when we played the pitch was an embarrassment. The north has been hit with horrendous rainfalls causing extensive flooding. We were postponing games if someone spilt thier Bovril on the grass. We have made great progress on the pitch and it looks great now, but we have no moral high ground in this argument.
  20. Of course, if we had beaten Thistle, we'd have been in 6th spot, above them and Dundee (and might have stopped their run before it started).
  21. If all we have to complain about is a chip that was hit a yard too hard, it was a good day at the office.
  22. Was thinking the same. It's a free country and all that, but there's a fine line between showing some respect for the man and going full on Diana.
  23. 18,000 empty seats, though, means it is only 2/3 full. That would look like a lot of empty space.
  24. Exactly. Like McGhee said in his post-match, we could play better than we did against Celtic and end up losing. Football's like that sometimes. The important thing is to maintain, or improve, that level of consistency and quality, and the results will come over the longer term. Expecting a tough game, and be happy to take any points from it.
