    Baraclough Out

The problem with wingers tracking back is when the defence wins the ball, their only option is to square it to someone in the left or right back slot. That's why maybe 2 wingers doesn't work - as much as I wish it did. 3 mid to defend, and one winger for the out ball.
  2. I'd be playing our first team strikers to try and get a goal or two.

    Baraclough Out

Maybe. Or maybe it's just too difficult to play 4 in midfield if two of them are wingers. Or maybe, it's both.
  4. I'm hoping Law was re-signed as a backup for Watt.

    Aberdeen Motm

Don't disagree. However, I'm prepared to give Moult and Fletcher some time to get up to speed in the SPFL. Porter took a couple of months too (coming from a higher level) and he turned out OK.
  6. Our lack of goals from midfield has been a concern for the last few seasons.
  7. Look at who we played at the end of last season and who we played at the start of this season. We also had some of our weakest performances when he was in the team last season. So while I agree he's an important player, I still say it's a meaningless stat.
  8. Exactly, and we're not even through August yet. Also, for all the people (including me) who said they'd be happy with 7th or 8th this season - well that would mean losing most of our games against the top 6 candidates which is pretty much what we are doing here. I don't care who the manager is, the rot was deep after Mcalll left. The remainder of the season was all about survival, but it's going to take 2 or 3 years to rebuild ourselves out of that mess.
  9. But, but.. Taylor can't be pish because when I suggested he shouldn't start against Hearts I was shouted down by all the resident experts on here that he had to start because he was an international and much better than what we had. Wee clue people. If he was that good he would be in the Reading first team this season.
  10. That's something to do with the fact we have been mince. Before he took over last season we scored more than once..... 1 time. While not exactly excited by our start to the season, we had the same number of shots today as St. Johnstone (11). But we really need to start hitting the back of the net - and not just the strikers. One of our big failings last season was the dearth of goals from midfield.
  11. I know - hence my comment about the WH defence. He kept them in the game with a great save just before half time too. However, he still must hate facing Bournemouth. 14 goals conceded now in 2.5 games.
  12. 2 down now. West Ham's defence making ours look like 90s Italy.
  13. Our Louis it has to be said Produces proof beyond us Rain, shine or gale force nine His goals remain intact Helicopters in my garden - Skippy Sunday, i beg your pardon Double glazing is amazing Don't you all agree? or something...
  14. Darren Randolph concedes early against Bournemouth. Apparently he conceded 12 goals against them in 2 games last season - not his lucky team.
  15. Sorry mate, used to work OK, but I haven't tried it this season. It won't even work for me today using a UK proxy, so not sure what is going on with it.
  16. Another winger is not what we need right now.
  17. Unless we have an add-on clause for a number of appearances, of course.
  18. Aye, my heart bleeds for you having to go and watch all the games.
  19. Missed it again. Wasn't paying attention to the noon kick off game, but it wouldn't let me enter the 3pm kick-off predictions either.
  20. That's probably true. I think it's just that our failures have been worse in the League Cup in my time. Our Scottish Cup let downs have more often been to half decent teams - but that might be confirmation bias on my part.
  21. Aye, open all mics should be fine without a proxy. It was the live broadcast of games that needed.one, but sadly that isn't an option these days. I tend to follow on Twitter these days as the BBC coverage can be pretty dire.
  22. There's definitely been more low points in the League Cup than Scottish Cup during my time following the 'Well. I still look forward to it every year though and would be delighted to win it given it's 50% of the silverware we will have a chance to collect. I have a few tales to tell about why the 2005 final was a particular disaster for me, but always remain hopeful each year will be the year.
  23. If you go to: http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/scottish-premiership there should be a link on that page.
