  1. It's not fixed, but there is a formula that takes a load of things into account from how long you have been at the club to, I believe, number of 1st team appearances and the category of the club trying to sign you. Leeds are a category 1 club so have to pay more. So if you are mince, never made a 1st team appearance, only been at the club a couple of years and being signed by a lesser team, then the development fee would be much reduced.
  2. The media would have still found a different angle to distract themselves from the game. They don't want to dwell on how poorly their Rangers team performed. Much like after the first leg, when they focused on ticket allocations more than how much of a cuffing we handed them.

    Media Team

Even Chic Young admitted how our media team is light years ahead of the competition (after bashing the club, the fans, the ticketing etc. for 15 minutes)
  4. With our new scouting system up and running, this summer is going to be the first big test. At one of the Q&As they said that there were something like 50 - 60 players of interest already identified under the new setup, so it will be interesting to see what comes of that. Chalmers sounds like a good first signing and managed to hold down a starting place at Falkirk before he was injured - liking the sound of him.
  5. A 2 game difference isn't a huge imbalance. I think it was an anomaly this season that we had a decent bit of form too. I think most years will be more like last season when the SPFL team is on a losing streak. What's unfair to me is the fact that a 3rd or 4th place team can get promoted over the team that finished 2nd. Leagues are supposed to reward consistency over a season, not how you perform in a 2 leg tie. Of course, the only reason it was set up this way was to make sure newRangers had the best possible chance to come up, but that's another story.
  6. The problem with bringing in the police is where do you stop? If I slid into someone in the middle of Argyle street and clipped their leg it would be assault. Should every missed tackle on a football pitch be reviewed by the police? And what about boxing? That's legized assault. Would quickly turn into farce. Let the football authorities deal with it.
  7. If Big Lee was persuaded to stay would be great to see Moore play along side him. They had a decent partnership in the U20s.
  8. It's a bad day in Govan when you can't rely on the Establishment to suck up to you.
  9. I don't have more. I thought I had read it on here somewhere.
  10. Was the Thomas story not something about off-the-park issues? I thought we basically ditched him a few weeks ago.
  11. Everyone needs to file this season away for reference so they remember in graphic detail what it's like to have a bad one. We were spoiled for a few seasons there, but like every season for me - not getting relegated is my starting point for success. Looking forward to mid-table mediocrity in 2015/16!
  12. Aye, I just assumed when it mentioned "indivduals" it included Skippy. Of course, it's quite possible he already has plenty on offer elsewhere - I doubt he'll be lacking any opportunities.
  13. I read this piece assuming Skippy would be one of the individuals they would be having a conversation with:
  14. I hope Bara has more creative ideas than that.
  15. Would be fine as part of a "2014/2015 Season" DVD or similar, but on it's own would seem a bit small-minded and Old Firmish.
  16. All from the same (new) poster too. Might be someone (or a bot) trying to generate traffic to that site.
  17. The last couple of Sportsound podcasts, Ferguson has come across as the voice of reason - not difficult in that company, I know. He has been first to point out how Motherwell were by far the better team, and Rangers needed to accept it and get on with it. 'Flow was excellent tonight, Tom English seemed to spend most of the evening contradicting himself and Chic Young was pretty obnoxious even by his standards.
  18. I haven't watched it since the original broadcast, but "can wait their turn" is also what I thought was said.
  19. At the Well Society Q&A it was said that because of the Development Fee situation, the rules say we get a small % of every subsequent transfer too.
  20. I miss the days of Richard Park and Jimmy Sanderson. They often talked mince, but they didn't fawn over the Glasgow teams.
  21. I'm still hopeful we might get a last minute change of mind from Erwin, but if not, he will be a loss. However, 500k + add-ons for an out of contract player is at least better than seeing a senior player walk out the door for hee-haw.
  22. I've always been in the "50% of a game changing talent is better than 100% of a worker" camp. Of course, it's ultimately about balance and you need a mix of both. I'd hate to have a midfield consisting of 4 Lasleys or 4 Ainsworths, but if there is a guy out there with Lionel's talent, plays hard 100% of the time and tackles hard off the ball - he won't be playing anywhere near Fir Park. Be happy to see him back in the team next season.
  23. Given his injury situation, I doubt we'd have felt comfortable offering Erwin an improved deal last summer.
