  1. He never said Clarkson wasn't good enough. He said he didn't think he was the kind of striker we needed. Plus we still have Moore to come back into the squad later in the season. Given that Sutton and Erwin were crying out for an Ojamaa type support player and we brought in Ojamaa, I don't have any big disagreement with that. The problem is it hasn't worked out - but you can at least see the logic behind that thinking.
  2. We didn't have cash to pay for Faddy last season (it came out the Directors' pockets). Given how long it took him to find a club this season, we weren't the only one's questioning his value. Law & Reid's salary combined is probably less than we paid Faddy. Tough financial decisions to make, and easy to complain about when we are playing mince. There is no way Fadddy's loss is responsible for the complete meltdown of the squad this season, though.
  3. 18 team league. 34 game season. Winter shutdown.
  4. I'm still prepared to give McCall backing, but if we are still churning out the same mince by the end of November, then it's probably time for a change. That would give us time to bring a new gaffer and let him assess the situation prior to the mid-season transfer window. Given our resources, a season like this is inevitable, as we are dependent on a small core of players close to the top of their game on a weekly basis. Whatever the reasons for the poor form, we don't have many options, so even with a new boss, it's the guys on the pitch that are going to have to turn it around.

Cheers. I did the same and 'Flow also sorted it for me.
  6. Ultimately depends on cash as much as anything. Clarkson is a salary, Ojamaa is a loan - and for me a fit Ojamaa is more useful to us then a fit Clarkson given the balance of our squad. And would not be surprised if 2 of the other 3 are on higher wages than their Fir Park counterparts.
  7. Did we not win the game after he went away to Germany? Same again please.
  8. Even if Clarkson scores, I don't see a striker getting a goal as a "cruel twist of fate". More like a "fairly normal occurrence". Much more concerned about our strikers hitting some form.
  9. Do you honestly believe he is that stupid?
  10. He doesn't need to look murder - just not as good as Erwin or Moore.
  11. Can anyone outside of the UK verify that GoCardless works for them? I'm getting lazy in my old age and can't be bothered trying to set something up if it's doomed to failure.
  12. Too early to say at this stage. Need to see how many players manage to injure themselves over the international break

Did everyone who paid up for this season get their refunds? I don't see mine anywhere.
  14. Every opponent must be thinking 'if any team needs a win they always get it against us'. That's how it works, right?

    Josh Law Vs Faddy

Even if he was fully fit we don't have the cash to pay him.
  16. Whether or not he is the cause (and I don't think he is), it's the GM's job to steady the ship and keep everyone on track. And aye, I know ships don't run on tracks.
  17. No, I don't think it is either - I'm sure a number of the other directors have assumed some of Leann's responsibilities. But I think we are inevitably missing her leadership during this rough patch.
  18. I was expecting this form last season - the fact that we finished 2nd after all the changes still amazes me. Sooner or later it was inevitable our fortunes would take a turn for the worse, and the injury situation at the start of this season seems to have been a catalyst for our woes. Difficult to tell if we really are less fit, because lack of confidence can take away from commitment and sharpness on the pitch. I seriously doubt if there has been a change in the methods used in the last couple of successful seasons. The one thing that has been obvious all along (even when we were playing better) is that our small squad is a high risk (but necessary) strategy. Injuries + off form players are hitting us hard. While we have had a few form dips under his tenure, this is the first time McCall has had to deal with such collective ineptitude. I'd be disappointed if he, or the club, thought that the solution would be for him to walk away - certainly not this early on. I also think we are missing Leann at the helm. With the best will in the world, I don't think if 'Flow has a chat with McCall about changing things around he could manage to instill the same fear or urgency that a chat with Ms. Dempster would create.
  19. Aye, I can imagine before every game he thinks to himself "I wonder what the worst result is I can get - that will certainly improve my chances to move on to a better job"
  20. We can all afford the transfer fees of free agents/Bosmans. Dundee Utd however are paying much more in wages than we can stump up.

    Josh Law Vs Faddy

The fact that Faddy doesn't still doesn't have a club shows that we didn't make a terrible decision in not re-signing him. Trying to compare Faddy and Law, however, is pointless. Be as well trying to compare Pettigrew and Erwin.
  22. At least we don't have a man advantage any more.
  23. The League Cup has not been kind to us for as long as I have been following the team. No idea why that should be, but we never seem to shine in that competition.
  24. I can almost feel that excitement from here.
