  1. So all going to plan. Poor league form. Cup on the way. No worries.
  2. There's certainly something wrong with your reading, because nobody ever said all our injuries were because of an astroturf pitch in Europe.
  3. Official MFC Twitter, I seem to remember, pointed out that the Betis game was our 8th pre-season match. A number of them were behind closed doors, but I don't think we can use that as an excuse.
  4. Well guys like Scotland and Antoine-Courier didn't look that fit last season, never mind this one. However, the step up to the SPFL from the Championship is much smaller than the step up from the 5th tier of English football to the SPFL (despite what the English might have you believe). Plus Law's club went part-time at the end of the 2012-2013 season. So yes, I think part time Conference Premier to SPFL is just a wee bit more of a leap than Scottish Championship to SPFL.
  5. Well Ainsworth was only half fit in a couple of games and Ojamaa, by his own admission, was lacking a full pre-season. Law, has never played at this level and could take a few more weeks to get up to the required fitness level.
  6. I miss the days when the Hamilton Advertiser used to refer to them as "Acas" rather than "Accies". We often struggled to beat them back then, too, but Kia-Ora tasted better.
  7. Injured players still out, but some players not previously match fit should be a bit sharper and O'Brien should be ready to step in.
  8. Because the Community Trust won't be paying for that - it's a charity. They might partner with a new stadium (funded from elsewhere), of course, but given the likelihood of a move seems to have faded recently, I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.
  9. Only because we are running about half strength.
  10. If their fans are of the same mindset as ours, we will be their nightmare draw. "Any team looking for a win always beats us" "We never do well when we are favourites in a Cup tie" etc. etc.
  11. We could do that. Would be easier if we just improved our form, though.
  12. You still need to win games. People still talk about the Hibs 6 - 6 draw; not because of Craig Brown.
  13. The way you inject enthusiasm into the fans is by playing better and winning.
  14. Vigurs, by his own admission last week, hadn't kicked a ball for days. Likewise, Henrik was lagging in his pre-season. Hopefully, those two will be sharper for this and give us a little more creativity up front. Absolutely no idea about the score. The team kept surprising me last season by pulling out results when least expected, so bring it on and let's see what happens. On a different note, it's mince not to have the MFCTV commentaries any more. After all the good work that was going on there, having to rely on Open All Mics, or a delayed Twitter feed feels like a big step backwards.
  15. Eh? That's normal business practice - if you move on, you cover your old responsibilities until a new person takes over. From what I heard, they are still looking to find the right person - it's a key job, so no need to rush and get it wrong.
  16. I wouldn't say he's the greatest tactician in the world, but he does have a plan and formations. We don't have a big enough budget to have 2 first team level players for every position, and that's where it gets tough. You might not like the quality of the players, but in the past: He wanted pace to replace Humphrey - he brought in Ainsworth. If he wants pace on the left, he plays ZFA. Wanted to replace Anier, he brought in Henrik. Needed cover in defence last season, he brought in Reid. Needed to replace Higdon, he brought in Sutton. As for Law, we needed to replace the creativity of Faddy (Although we can argue if he was playing as a striker or a midfielder last season) Ojamaa came with the explicit intention of playing as a striker, so you can pretty much guarantee when he is fit (and Erwin is back fit), it will be 2 up top. He's not perfect, but he's been our most successful manager since the war, so there is something going on there that is working. Having said all that, I"d be surprised to see him here next season, as it's only a mtter of time before he gets the offer he can't refuse.
  17. Erwin if he's not out injured. Hope his luck is better this year (despite his most recent knock).
  18. Hoooooof, is the last thing you want to do on fake grass.
  19. In his interview today, McCall was bemoaning the fact we had poor luck with injuries for the past 18 months. So sounds more like coincidence.

Maybe we can agree he seems to have talent as a goalkeeping coach.

Like I said, I make no claims he was brilliant, but 9 years is a long time to hang around if you are useless. I don't care how many managers you serve under.

They don't even make the top 2: Number One: John Gardiner Number Two: Howard Samaroff and Gardiner wins it by a mile.

So, despite the fact he was mince, nobody at Fir Park was smart enough to either terminate his contract or not renew his contract - they felt it was better to keep paying him for 9 years. He wasn't even close to the worst keeper we have had in my lifetime.
  24. The problem isn't people posting boring drivel, or even people being trying to shout down others' opinions (although that is a little more obnoxious). Censorship is generally the poorer alternative. The problem is the escalation of crap that would die a death if people would just ignore it. That is a more recent internet phenomenon, and by no way limited to this site.
  25. People take the internet far too seriously.
