Two reasons for me. Firstly, he didn't play his best until the last 6 months of his contract. Secondly, after his enforced absences from regular first team action, you can't be sure how that will affect a guy's confidence or form. A third resason (at no extra cost) is the potential abuse he ws likely to take (as per Hollis, Vigurs, Lawson etc.) from some fans for not being exactly like the guy he replaced. Having said that, I wasn't expecting him to be mince - but was not expecting a 20+ season from him.

I didn't fancy Sutton when he came back, but he proved that after all these years I still know nothing about the game. So my vote for the big man.

The worst case for us is that we stay in 3rd place, qualifying for Europe. The worst case for Aberdeen is they drop a place and lose out on the 2nd place prize money they currently qualify for. We literally have nothing to lose.

There definitely are, but also a fair amount of players in the $50 - $120k range, which is less than many out our club I would think.

I'm really not sure about Faddy. Last season I thought it was a big risk given our finances, but it turned out really well. This season, he has really struggled and hasn't exactly set the heather on fire. Maybe time to part ways and see if we can bring through the next young star - like Dom Thomas.

Would have though Lionel could get more cash down south (as the MLS wages aren't great unless you qualify for "superstar" status or whatever the name is to get around the cap), but good luck to him of he wants to try his hand over here. Randolph needs a decent Centre Half in front of him, so that one definitely makes sense!
