  1. I'm waiting to see who we bring in as our new speed merchant. That is going to be a key position for us to fill this season.
  2. That's mainly due to their large selection of fine microbreweries and easy access to soft drugs (allegedly).
  3. From his interview on Friday he said: He was cautiously optimistic Faddy would sign. He had been a made a verbal offer and was waiting for a written one. Was going to think about it over the weekend and was hopeful that he would sign on Monday or Tuesday. Similarly hopeful for McManus and was looking for him to sign Monday or Tuesday, but understood he was also training with Hibs and may prefer it there. If both did sign he was still looking for another couple of players - one more striker and one wide/fast player. One of those may have to be a loan.
  4. Didn't one of the issues used to be that yellow/red cards and disciplinary points from playing local teams carried over into the season or something stupid like that? I could be completely misremembering that.
  5. They need the use of their legs when the season kicks off.
  6. Wee snippet from The Times in regard to McManus, McFadden and signings in general.
  7. Off the park, he had nothing but good things to say about the club and the fans. heard him a few times talking about his spell at Fir Park and how much he enjoyed it.
  8. Nah. Someone in an official capacity will have authorized it in a subtle attempt to boost season ticket sales.
  9. Google maps let's you work out distance and time for walking between places. It reckons 1.4 miles/27 minutes (assuming it's Morecambe Station itself you are talking about). Google Directions
  10. If the Cypriot opposition is the same quality as the Albanian I'd take them in a heartbeat.
  11. Was issued a first team number a couple of weeks back so doubt he be will going anywhere soon.
  12. Good point. Now take a look at what I wrote and see if it has any bearing on what you just said.
  13. Can't remember the last player we released (rather than left on a transfer/free) that came back to haunt us.
  14. Aye, I read the email from the Society after I posted this and saw that idea had been floated. Glad they are giving it some consideration.
  15. The corporate memberships are definitely something we are lacking. I also think we missed a trick by not putting some scheme in place where we could contribute in increments individually until we hit the next level. There was a fair jump from the 300 quid level to the next one. I might be an exception seeing as I'm not buying a season ticket etc. these days, but I wouldn't mind contributing a bit extra when I had it if I knew it was being added to the funds. And even if it took me another 10 years to reach, at least it would be something to aim for.
  16. Excellent. In which case I'd encourage him not to be shy. We can be quite eloquent when we try.
  17. Aye, it's the time factor that is the issue for most. That's the problem - unless there is some way to split the load we are always going to end up with people who have nothing better to do. I never see Barnstaple on here - it would be a good start if some of our views were being solicited. I know we don't represent the entire membership, but I think we have a pretty good cross section.
  18. If Members aren't happy with the representation then let's propose a change and get some others nominated. I'm not up to speed with all that is being said at the meetings (given that they still can't manage to set up access for non-locals to these things), but if people think our voice isn't being heard, then let's make it heard. The difficulty with all these things is finding someone prepared (or able) to dedicate the time to execute the responsibilities. As a result, the same old faces turn up.
  19. To be fair, Randolph couldn't hold down a first team slot in a League One team before he joined us. Bottom line is that Gordon Marshall reckoned he is good enough and he's supposed to be the expert.
  20. I think they are saying you gain more useful experience training along side Shay Given and stopping shots from Tevez than, say, training along side John Gardiner and stopping shots from John Reilly.
  21. Hughes signed him, but he did have his contract extended under Mancini's watch.
  22. NAW!!. THAT WAS RIDICULOUS. NAW!!! WHAT!!! JEEEEEZ! C'MOAN. THAT BAW WAS CLEARLY IN THE SECOND POT!!!
  23. Liking the shirt and shorts, but think I'd prefer it with this season's socks.
  24. I'll bet that resolve breaks 5 minutes after we make the group stages...
