  1. Whoever joins Cardiff will be on the dole before the end of the season.
  2. True, but it's rare that we dominated them the way did in that 3 - 1 game. Having said that, I'll be happy to be played off the park in this one and steal a 0 - 0. The key to situations like this is step it up in the 2nd half and hope the opponents run out of steam after their Euro exertions. (Still think we'll lose, though).
  3. Apart from sectarian bigotry, a sense of entitlement and a paranoid conspiracy about everything you mean?
  4. As good as Dundee Utd are, the proved last season that they are just as capable as the rest of us at shipping a boatload of goals from time to time (losing 4 to St Mirren springs to mind). I think we'll lose this one, but I don't think a hammering is on the cards either.
  5. Guys of similar stature to McCall who applied last time. In recent history there have been around 40 candidates applied for the Motherwell position each time it became vacant - and the doesn't include the people who didn't apply that the club has reached out to. Maybe Faddy has his coaching badges and is looking for a change of career
  6. If McCall does leave, there will plenty of quality candidates ready to take over. After the Malpas debacle, I'd be surprised to see an internal promotion.
  7. I always thought this would be McCall's last season with the club. He took over a team and helped them finish 'best of the rest' and then did it again with the team he rebuilt. However, I thought he'd fancy one more crack at the Cups before he moved on. Of course, you never know when an opportunity is going to come up, but I still think he'd be a better gaffer than back room assistant.
  8. What job does he have?
  9. Steve Kirk to the Albion Rovers Board.
  10. Only if the guy injured himself sending it.
  11. A few years ago, there was a trainee at a bank that fired off millions of pounds worth of stock trades because he thought he was using a test system. That's how you properly screw things up. I doubt there are many people on here (myself included) who haven't sent an email they later regretted; either intentionally or accidentally. Call it a "learning opportunity" and move on.
  12. Gunnar has a better grasp of English.
  13. Nothing from the club in my inbox either.
  14. Given the number of people who have suggested the idea of some kind of flexi-ticket, maybe it's just a reaction to that.
  15. Aye. There have been talks. And they are confidential.
  16. He seems to have had many injury problems since he left us too. Whether that means he is less effective now, is difficult to tell, but he really needs a full season of games. A lower league team might be the place to get that and start rebuilding.
  17. I hope we don't loan out Thomas. We could do with him getting some first team experience with us.
  18. Plus we replaced McFadden with Law, Anier with Ojamaa and Hutchinson with O'Brien. I'd be OK with a mid-table finish this season if it means 3 or 4 youngsters have been blooded for first team football (or even selling on). Sometimes you need a step back to move forward.
  19. Kenny Black will run the training sessions. That's how most professional clubs operate.
  20. So all going to plan. Poor league form. Cup on the way. No worries.
  21. There's certainly something wrong with your reading, because nobody ever said all our injuries were because of an astroturf pitch in Europe.
  22. Official MFC Twitter, I seem to remember, pointed out that the Betis game was our 8th pre-season match. A number of them were behind closed doors, but I don't think we can use that as an excuse.
  23. Well guys like Scotland and Antoine-Courier didn't look that fit last season, never mind this one. However, the step up to the SPFL from the Championship is much smaller than the step up from the 5th tier of English football to the SPFL (despite what the English might have you believe). Plus Law's club went part-time at the end of the 2012-2013 season. So yes, I think part time Conference Premier to SPFL is just a wee bit more of a leap than Scottish Championship to SPFL.
  24. Well Ainsworth was only half fit in a couple of games and Ojamaa, by his own admission, was lacking a full pre-season. Law, has never played at this level and could take a few more weeks to get up to the required fitness level.
