I don't know why people get so nervous over these things. Even the most straightforward contracts take time to sign by the time the club and the manager's agents, lawyers etc. have them analyzed line by line. Anyway, I didn't hear the interview, but my dad heard McCall on the radio last night talking about the new contract. Apparently he said that it will be signed soon - he's just been running about between the Bradford Cup Final, preparing for Dingwall, preapring for last night etc. I do, however, think it will be his last deal with us.
-
We'll replace him. That's how we roll.
-
Great to get the result, but equally happy with the performance. As McCall likes to say,you can't guarantee the final score, but you should expect players to perform. Huge difference from Saturday - hope we can kick on.
-
will you quit posting if we finish top 6?
-
Score first with the last kick of the ball, surely.

I never hold out much hope against the OF these days, but we normally perform a little better against Celtic than Rangers. Will settle for a better performance than Saturday and hope Faddy can get some more match fitness under his belt. If we do still have injuries I wouldn't risk them tonight.

What about Davie Hay, Jock Wallace, Big Eck, and Butcher etc? All walking out mid-contract with various degrees of pork-pieness.
-
He's waiting for the smoke to clear (allegedly).

If the club gets fined they won't care about your (or my) opinion - and that's the potential problem. And they do have to worry about it, because all it takes is one Match Day Commander to get pissed off and all the good work done to get people standing, flags and drums etc. can be undone. You need to choose your battles and for me, this is the wrong one - although I don't think it's "A DISGRACE"

Everybody (or almost everybody) appreciates what they do. Along with many others I have even donated a few bob when possible to help their banner/streamer efforts. Whether we like it our not, though, smoke bombs/cannisters/fireworks are banned from Scottish grounds. This isn't recent news, and if it gets the club into trouble then, regardless of the motivation behind it, we need to give it a miss. What it doesn't mean is that we want the rest of the efforts to stop.

Aye, to be fair, it was difficult to tell the difference sometimes.

Graham Barnstaple for me. He made me turn off the MFC TV commentary after the first 10 or 15 minutes, so I didn't have to endure the remainder.

True, but when you were getting pelted in the heid with Double Diamond cans full of pish, wading through streams of steaming boak and running the gauntlet of bears looking for a rumble on the way home, it lost some of its sparkle to many. There's a reason we are some way off seeing alcohol permitted inside Scottish grounds again, and the reason is there are too many fans across the board that turn having a day out into being a jaikie. As a nation, we gave the authorities far too much ammunition to treat us like weans and it's been a long road to get them to even consider changing their minds. Rightly or wrongly, every time an incident as minor as a smoke bomb (which we all know are banned inside stadiums) is brought to their attention, it adds to the difficulty of moving things forward. There needs to be a middle ground.

I'm not defending the stewards (as I obviously wasn't even there) and agree that it's important that customers are dealt with using as light a touch as possible. From a legal perspective, however, stadium legislation is being breached if:

If you want to watch iPlayer on an Apple I can recommend the Tunnel Bear service. Has a free trial and works great for iPlayer on my iPod touch.

This thread started out with smoke bombs, but ended up with just the bangers.

This thread is deja vu. Lost count of the number of times last season (and the season before) where doom and gloom set in because we hit a dip for 2 or 3 games. I understand the disappointment of a poor performance, but sometimes I wonder if posters on here actually follow our team. We have a small squad, many youngsters, who will be inconsistent. After the Utd. game, McCall said he was worried about a number of players carrying knocks and we just don't have the dpeth of squad to deal with large scale changes. I remember all the talk prior to Sevco when people were saying they didn't care if we had to field our U-20 team every week. I can only imagine this place if that had happened. People talk about wanting a competitive league, but then moan when teams can all beat each other on any given Saturday. Seems like what they mean is they want a competitive league where we finish a clear second and everybody below us is of a similar (but poorer) standard.

Favourite player ever in a 'Well shirt. As a callow youth I didn't realise how gifted he was, I just took it for granted he would get to the ball first and bury it in the net. His speed over the first 20 yards was lethal and his finishing second to none. Another class player who missed out on caps due to not playing for the OF. One of the few players who, when you look back today, is still as good (or better) than you remember.

It's certainly older technology and has it's own issues. However, like all technologies it will take it's own sweet time to disappear. The reason it's not supported by Apple products is because, ironically, it is proprietary technology that Steve Jobs had no control over. There are, however, apps out there that will play flash.

While that's probably a great night out in Inverness, some things only really work in a large scale.

With an 80,000 crowd in the San Siro for a Champions League game, looks impressive. With under 4,000 on a Saturday in Dingwall, looks like weans playing with bangers.

We have managed to, almost single handedly, keep Dundee in the SPL before with our donation of points to them, so it wouldn't be the biggest shock. My concern at the moment is all the Faddy-love and attention has lost us some focus.

Been complaining about Barnstaple for months, but it seems to have become worse recently. Been switching the commentary off in the early stages he has become so unbearable. I like Kris Jack, and enjoyed his commentaries before he joined MFC TV, but his efforts are being destroyed. And as if the content wasn't bad enough, the decibel level is even worse. When you are wired up to a mic, screaming into it is not recommended.

Us and almost everyone else. That's part of the downside (or fun depending on your perspective) of a competitive league. Wasn't that long ago Pat Fenlon was bemoaning the fact that his team had the chance to go second on 7 different occasions and failed every time. If you don't play your best, anybody in this league is likely to beat you.

I can't even listen to MFC TV commentary now thanks to him. I switched off the Dundee Utd game after the first 15 mins as it was unbearable. I think he has actually got worse in the past couple of months. Even more annoying due to the fact the Kris Jack actually does a decent job.
