  1. "We" don't panic. A lot of people on here panic, but the club does not. I think it's fair to see that we have not only coped with players leaving the club in the past few years, but actually improved as a team. However, if you are a player, why would you sign a new contract a year in advance when you can wait a few months to see what other offers are on the table?
  2. It's probably because I'm old and been lucky enough to see some great players at Fir Park over the years, but he doesn't fit in the legend category for me. More in the cult hero mould.
  3. Tell him there is an old man on the other side of the pond that he was a hero to as well - I was 7 at the time, though
  4. That was some team Spurs fielded as well: Knowles, Mullery, England, Glizean, Chivers, Peters etc.
  5. Why won't they see the ball? Is Faddy going to hide it under his (new bucket) seat on the bench?
  6. Had a long, and as I recall, successful, 5 or 6 year stint at Morton after us.
  7. McCall didn't *need* Faddy - he did say he needed a replacement for Jennings. He might like to have Faddy in the squad, but that's not the same thing. And if the fans need a boost after all the recent successes we have had (plus sitting top of the league today) then they are in for a shock when we get back to our mid-table, relegation battling days.
  8. If we have money to spend, it needs to be on a Jennings replacement. McFadden is not that man. He might have been good to have around for the Euro games, but for me, we just don't have the cash to risk on a guy who has barely kicked a ball in the last 3 years.
  9. Hullo, Hullo We're here for half yer dough Hullo, Hullo Just pay before you go You're up to your knees in EBTs Your club's about to die The Tax Man Is all that's left to go
  10. That's the name I was struggling for. I knew it was a 'Brian'! It's terrible when you get old and start forgetting - another Senior Moment. I remember the pass as clear as day, though, and the dummy. They used to say about Charlie Cooke "When Charlie sold you a dummy you had to pay to get back into the stadium" - and Walker's dummy was as good as that. Pity he turned into such an eejit on the telly because he was a great young player for us.
  11. I think we are going to blow them away - which is a bad sign as I never think we are going to blow anyone away. However, I just don't think Dundee were ready for the step up and we will run out comfortable winners. So for all you gamblers out there, a 1 - 0 win to Dundee is your banker for the weekend.
  12. Bruce Cleland scored an overhead kick at Clydebank I think (when we beat them 7 - 1 at Kilbowie).
  13. 86 I think. Was working a student job beside a Celtic supporter. 2 - 0 down without playing badly. Great comeback. Walker's goal set up by a cracking reverse pass from Martin (if my memory isn't playing tricks). Gahagan missed a great chance in extra time with a weak shot straight at the keeper. Softy hit the underside of the square bar with his pen. Round bar and it would probably have gone in. EDIT: No idea why I wrote Martin! I was thinking Smith - but could be wrong. EDIT EDIT: If you can bear it, a report is on here
  14. Hugh Sproat for "Shuggie, Shuggie - swing on the bar" and for getting involved in a snowball fight behind the goals at Muirton Park during the game.
  15. This is our "Best Chance Ever" ( © every game in the last 10 years)
  16. That was a great Dundee Utd. team. Beat some cracking teams in their Euro adventures. The lost the UEFA final largely due to being knackered. For some players who were also internationalists, they had played something mental like 70 or 80 games that season. After they won that UEFA Cup semi-final, did we not applaud them onto Fir Park just before beating them?
  17. The point is that a regular poster offered a strong opinion that "Jennoe" was not good enough to play in League One and would end up a bench warmer. This opinion was based on the fact that he watches League One every week, that every other poster is a moron who knows nothing about football, and most importantly, that he has even been inside the Ricoh Arena recently.
  18. I am definitely going* *to watch it on the internet
  19. Do you mean "European Cup Final" or "European Cup/UEFA Cup/European Cup Winners Cup Final"
  20. Were you David Murray's accountant? Either way, if I just donate 20 quid to Steelmen Forever, the club gets more.
  21. By the time sevco finagle their overheads, our club will see less of the 20 quid than if it was at Fir Park.
  22. I know what you mean. I'd rather donate 20 quid to one of the Steelmen Forever initiatives (and watch the game on telly) than fund either of the bigot brothers' bile.
  23. The little google info I could dig out mostly has him pegged as a midfielder, so maybe that's why. http://asia.eurosport.com/football/axel-bossekota_prs230610/person.shtml
