I disagree. He says what he thinks will generate the most reactions from listeners. I don't have an issue with that as it's his job to pull in angry punters. I don't, however, confuse it with what he really believes.

Absolutely. And we proved last season that our team sets up well away from home. Even if we keep it scoreless until half time and then grab a goal, it could make for an interesting game. While being 2 - 0 up is obviously a big advantage, it can be a tricky score to defend and teams often get caught up between sitting in and looking for a 3rd. Or maybe I'm just being overoptimistic.

UEFA frowns upon *anything* being thrown at players on the pitch to such an extent that they are prepared to dish out fines to the clubs. The club knows this and asked the fans to stop doing this. Some fans continued to do this. The club might now get fined. See why there is such a fuss now?

I mentioned this on Shoutbox last night, but the tannoy sounded good on the internet stream.

It was McCall's fault for getting us into the CL. Looking forward to a bottom 6 finish this season so we don't have the same worries.

I don't recall Bob Malcolm contributing anything that led us to 3rd place in the league. Let's face it - you strive to be the dissenting voice. I'll bet you are one of those guys that loves to listen to unknown bands and then ditches them when they become popular. You complain that Ramsden's experience is worthless because it was League 2. Higdon's experience was not in league two and he did the job he was signed to do - but you complain about him too. No doubt you would have turned down the signing of Ross McCormack and Skippy due to their obvious lack of SPL experience. Likewise for Dougie Arnott with no senior experience in the game. The days of signing a Porter or a Jutkiewicz are long gone. You offer no alternatives, just criticisms that are, at times, laughable. When anyone points out the fallacies in your arguments you ignore them rather than defend them. Once you learn how to read a balance sheet, I'm sure you will start to appreciate the position Motherwell are in when it comes to bringing in new players.

steelboy needs a few players to hate. He is still upset that Higdon's goal tally helped us reach 3rd place. The fact that he continues to criticize the signings of a manager who has just led us out to a CL match speaks for itself. If anyone feels the need to question a new player's ability based on one competitive outing (in the CL!), then that also speak for itself. I remember hearing Arsene Wenger saying that when a player switches leagues it takes 6 months for them to adjust and settle in. I expect steelboy would disagree with that too, just for the chance to start another argument.

We signed him because he was cheap, experienced and can play in a number of positions. It might have passed you by, but we had no money to spend. I'm sure the club would welcome your input into who we could have brought in as a holding midfielder for the same price.

All it takes is UEFA to decide to dish out a fine of 40 or 50 thousand quid (which is not exactly unknown) and we have lost a player's salary for a year. After all the efforts the fans have made to put extra cash into the club, that would be a real slap in the face - and all thanks to a few eejits.
