Statistically, over such a small sample as an entire career, that is not even close to true. While the law of large numbers applies to certain random events, it wouldn't apply here due to the human element and the fact that footballers do not play millions (or even thousands) of games.

It's always easier to play catch-up than lead from the front. If Utd. or Saints get within a point or two, they will have to start dealing with the pressure too and it's a whole new ball game. I'd much rather be 5 points ahead than 5 points behind right now, and I think we will do it.
-
We're 5 points ahead at the moment. Our fate is in our own hands. You can't ask for better than that at this stage of the season and no reason to be worrying about what other teams do. Just need to focus on taking care of our own business.
-
So you weren't sure about him, but one bad game means he's mince?
-
Big games like beating Hearts and Hibs back to back when needed? Let's not panic yet.
-
It wasn't just the rotation, though. They were obviously under orders not to get injured or suspended before the Cup Final and played out the season like pre-season friendlies.
-
I disagree with that too. I don't think we ran out of legs, I think McCall convinced his players to keep something in reserve for the Cup Final so we coasted after the split. I didn't agree with that approach then and still feel it backfired, but it did seem like a conscious choice from the Manager. St. Johnstone and Dundee Utd. have been on our trail for weeks. The gap fluctuates depending on our respective schedules, but when we have needed results (like beating Dunfermline, Hearts & Hibs) the guys have done the business. Of course things are likely to get nervy, but the trailing teams haven't suddenly turned into world beaters just because lost to Kilmarnock. I'd much rather be in our position than theirs, and I'm sure if they do get closer they will start feeling the pressure too.
-
I don't believe that. We got into the Champions League spot despite poor performances against the OF this season. Another poor performance doesn't mean we can't get the necessary points elsewhere to close the deal. Not saying we shouldn't try, but I won't be panicking of we lose.

eplsite.com and atdhenet.tv typically have good streams too.
-
I don't see it listed, but there is usually no problem getting a stream. What's more of a problem is getting up early to watch us get gubbed. Fair ruins my breakfast

0 - 0 after Rangers miss their late, soft penalty in the 88th minute?
-
I see you are still flip-flopping between individual and team performances to suit your arguemnt. When you are praising Mark Reynolds, it's all about how the *team* wasn't conceding goals when he played, but when you are attacking Higgy, it's all about how it's only him that is performing poorly.

None of that has been proved yet. You need to get over that one. It has nothing to do with their current financial plight. You don't get relegated to Division 3 just because you enter adminstration. The only person that suffers if you do that is yourself. I'm all for punishing them for their offences to the fullest possible extent, but I want to wait until those offences have been proven so we know what we are dealing with. -
Sad, but true. If you told me Rangers were going to pick 11 'Well fans from the stand to play against us, I still reckon we'd find a way to lose against this mob I'm waiting in hope for the day I'm proved wrong, but our record against Rangers is dire and I never expect anything more than a 2 or 3 goal defeat.
-
It's always tight at the end of the season - which is, of course, why threads like this are premature. I'd still rather be where we are than where Dundee Utd. or St. Johnstone are. Far too soon to be thinking about second, but also too soon to panic as St. Johnstone and Dundee Utd. will be dropping points too.

To be honest, even though I don't agree with that point, I have no problem with managers talking up our game. Hype did wonders for the EPL to extent many people actually believe it's The Best League in the World (copyright Sky 2012). -

I actually agree somewhat with Kenny Shiels on this (and no, I'm not high). I read him in The Herald yesterday saying that he felt we needed an independent body to assess these things in regard to what was best for football overall in this country. His point was that what was of benefit to the chairman of Kilmarnock was not necessarily beneficial to the Scottish game and each team is likely just going to vote to meet their own needs. -
I think that's a fair point. For those of us lucky enough to have been at Hampden when we won the Cup, the chance of a CL game in our lifetime is possibly a more attractive option. If you haven't seen us win a Cup, then I can see how that would be a better option.
-
I didn't say they couldn't have a crack, I'm saying that 90% of them aren't going to win. If all that matters is winning, then they should pack up and go home.
-
So 90% of the teams in the world should just give up playing the game then?
-
I agree with that, but it would be nice to play in the CL once in my lifetime. Then we can focus on cups again
-
I'm sure we'll reflect on that just before our Champions' League campaign kicks off.

Apples and organges (neither of which Adele has seen for quite some time, I'm guessing).

In no particular order (and limiting it to players I have seen play) Keith McCrae Joe Wark Peter Marinello Vic Davidson Bobby Graham Willie Pettigrew Gary McAllister Brian McLair Tommy Coyne Tom Boyd Ross McCormack Brian McLaughlin Tom Forstyh Gregor Stevens Paul Lambert Brian Martin Mitchell Van der Gaag Ally Maxwell Davie Cooper Bobby Watson But ask me in an hour and I'd probably have half a dozen changes
