If Mugabi or O'Donnell had made some of the mistakes Casey has made so far this season this place would have exploded. He's got out of jail a few times after getting out of position or making some terrible slack passes in dangerous areas. I'm happy to have him in the side overall, but it does show how some players avoid the scrutiny and criticism heaped onto others.

Cole had scored 2 goals in 18 months before he joined us. Exactly the kind of record you complain about. Then he refused a new contract with us for a better deal in England (thanks in part to the improvement in his development at our club). Again, I'm sure if you have constructive ideas on ways to keep a player like him when he didn't want to stay, the club will be happy to hear them. Also, if you have that list of strikers who guarantee goals at our level, that we can afford and that want to play for us, feel free to share it.

Conditions spoiled the game somewhat, but sitting with more than zero points after the first game of the campaign is never a bad thing.

I see Kipré got a start for West Brom today.

This aged well.

This has all the hallmarks of a game that will be decided by a defender losing his footing or the ball being held up in a puddle.

I thought it was a slip of the tongue, but he's all in on Blair.

Not to mention Crawford Baptie's Fir Park debut, scoring twice - two thirds of his total goal tally for us.

We need to immediately stamp out this kind of appreciation of the game we love and ensure nothing but small minded tribal bigotry prevails. Before you know it fans will be walking away from a match feeling entertained.

Hoping Turnbull has a massive season and lands a big money move elsewhere.

That logic didn't even hold up to the end of your sentence.

Arbroath looking even worse than they did for most of last season. If Moult was still on his crutches I'd fancy him for a couple more in this game

The computer prediction in The Scotsman last month had us finishing 6th.

Zero career Premiership goals is less than Obika.

Sooner or later SK is going to hit a bad patch where we lose a few on the bounce, so it will be interesting to see how he deals with that. For now though, as you say, he just keeps preaching the basics while picking up results and long may that continue. You could see in the group games there was a layer or two that had been worked on over the summer. The most obvious one being how we played out from the back. Looking forward to this one tomorrow. Hoping the weather holds so I can take my bacon roll and the computer outside to watch in the sunshine.

When SK leaves, I'll be much happier if it's because he's brought us success than because he failed.

Before a ball's been kicked in the league, no harm in dreaming big for a top six finish. I think we might squeak it, followed by the inevitable poaching of SK by Aberdeen.
-
You might remember it that way. A quick search of the the site suggests otherwise. Slattery still gets called out as useless by some on an almost weekly basis.

We'll find out if SK is a coaching genius, clueless or somewhere in between. The backlash comes because every signing we've made over the last 3 or 4 seasons (or more) is immediately followed by posts of "useless" before a ball is kicked. From Porter to Higdon from O'Hara to Slattery. It's almost like some posters prefer failure so they can say "telt ye" In general, whether a player is a success or not, it's likely a professional manager or coach is much better placed to make an assessment than pie munching punters like us who think winning at FIFA makes them Pep Guardiola.

Disappointed you missed the Dense Park open goal there.

You think SK, a man whose livelihood and reputation depends on winning games, signed a player because his agent said he was good?
