Back in the day (as we old farts like to day), Accies home games were scheduled for the days that Motherwell were playing away. We didn't need any fancy computers then - the guys that did it were smart enough to work it out on paper; even when we were in 2 different divisions. It probably didn't swell the gates by a huge amount, but I know a fair number of Accies fans that would join us from time to time at the 'Well games, and a number of Hamilton based 'Well fans who would wander down to Douglas Park when there was nothing better to do on a Saturday. In fact, I even knew of 2 people who had season tickets to both grounds. As well as the scheduling computer not being that smart, I expect cost would now be the prohibiting factor for this to be repeated.

I must be watching a different show, as I find their 'analysis' to be about insightful as the rest of their comments. Putting a big arrow pointing to the space a guy ran into doesn't make the comment any more intelligent. I hate to say it, but I find the analysts on US sports much more knowledgable and, when required, not afraid to rattle a few of the players' cages. 5 seconds after a play in American Football, the guys in the booth have everything broken down and can explain in great detail what went right (or wrong), who missed coverage, why the QB threw an interception, why a lineman didn't get the correct angle to block, and give a history of the last 10 times the QB made the same play and how well it worked out for him. For me, the guest analysts during World Cups, Euros etc. are the ones that most often deliver the goods. Strachan, O'Neill, Gullit identify and explain things few people consider (especially the idiots presenting the programme). If you ever read one of Jonathan Wilson's columns in The Guardian (never mind one of his books) you can get a flavour of how interesting real analysis can be. His depth of knowledge of tactics, how and why they have evolved etc. is incredible. He is the kind of person that should be on MotD - not some moronic footballer who creases up at the sound of his own farts. There are few ex-palyers who can speak intelligently about the game, and ever fewer who aren't so far up the backsides of the establishment that they will actually voice an honest opinion.

I can't watch Match of the Day thanks to Lineker - who after all these years still sounds like he is reading from autocue. And the banality of Shearer, Lawrenson etc. make it excruciating. Sportscene isn't great, but they are somewhat restricted in what they can show. Be happier if they just cut out the guests and showed some SFL action, mind you. The EPL show we get over here is just 60 mins of highlights with a few voiceovers to link the games. That works just fine for me.

You can guarantee that even if Rangers did find themselves facing a points deduction (and there is along way to go before that becomes a reality), the SPL will do everything in their power to prevent it happening.

I would rather Celtic had scraped a win at the weekend so there would be less pressure on them to get a result against us. It could work against us, or as others have said, might work in our favour if we score first (or at least stop them from scoring early). A hard fought 1 - 1.

What browser are you using? I haven't had time to trouble shoot, but on my desktop, Firefox won't load some of the Motherwell TV files. However, switching to Internet Explorer solves the problem. Same version of Firefox on my laptop has no issues.

I have a lot of time for Tel and his comments, but I'm still not sure how the ref "cost them the game". He only disputes the red card, not the foul itself. Even if the ref hadn't even booked the guy, we still scored from the free kick. Or does he think with 11 men on the field, they were going to score an equalizer in the last 5 minutes?

Ach, it's not his fault his blue nose fuels his fear of Celtic beating us.

One of the reasons people buy a season ticket is because they want to go to every home game. If they miss one or two due to random rescheduling, then their ticket loses value. That seems like a valid reason for a complaint. I'm sure you would complain if, after you paid at the gate, you were asked to leave the ground and refused a refund.

In which case it's even more mental. Fans are already pissed off at moving around kick-offs, so what do we do? Introduce another new kick-off day/time.

From what I have seen, Murphy is still playing out on the left - he's not as useful there. Putting Hughes into mid, would allow him to play a more central position and feed of Higdon. I think that is where he would thrive.

Agree about Forbes. When we are playing at home and are facing teams with a more defensive set-up, it's a killer final ball that is going to win the game for us, not high crosses into a packed box.

Absolutely - it would have to be on those terms.

It's not about change, anyway, it's about options. We have the option now of bringing on Daley for Humphrey. That's all well and good, but if a team has set up to defend against Humphrey, we aren't changing tactics with that swap. Hughes would give us another creative weapon and might even free up Murphy a bit more.

Maybe in the Jan transfer window, but Hughes is a free agent. I'm not saying I expect him to sign, but if no immediate offers transpire, he'd be as well picking up a 'lowly' wage and putting himself in the shop window than training for nowt.

Al B's lineup shows how he could improve the starting eleven at present.

I think you'll find the highest wage you offer will be the one your highest paid player(s) are earning. Basing your figures on what would happen if you had to re-sign players in a few years time doesn't count.
